To be fair, arent we still in the “early access” phase of colonization?
These changes coincide with the end of Early Access for Colonization.
“And lo, across the galaxy CMDR’s found their carefully balanced system economies explode into lawless chaos. Where once there were plentiful CMM composites, polymers, and computer components, there was suddenly only biowaste. Where once stations sold all manner of ships and modules, there were suddenly only Adders and E-rated FSD’s. And the player base did lament!” ![]()
Slightly more seriously, I have been spending some time fiddling with the system planner and it’s proving quite tricky to get any of the planetary ports in Gamma Muscae to have a large enough agricultural economy to produce fruit and veg. I can imagine that if you had spent weeks / months planning construction and hauling commodities to get your system economy set up just right, it might be a little disheartening to see these sorts of changes just dropped in without warning. A 70% reduction is a big change.
This was a major reason why I was waiting to start building. That fear it would all change. I wonder if they found some exploits that this fixes.
What’s there, what’s there, what’s there? ![]()
Essentially - this.
Scanning around- trying to find what’s all about.
So, biological sites- In space.
Ok so - I found it.
It’s unique, cool, anddefinitely it means something big will happen.
I have a lot of pictures but I’m not sure if other players here want to have the fun spoiled…
On a planet or in space like yoyr previous post?
Planetside… And it is quite literally monumental.
Ok as @schurem mentioned I’ll be posting my findings with the spoiler tag.
Spoilers here from Galnet News Digest:
Spoilers for new findings...
Approaching the biological site from low orbit
Don’t see much, so I turn on the night vision
My ride, the Hawkwind
What the hell is that?!
A strange Flora outcrop of some sort…
Holy hell, feeling like Jack and his Beanstalks…
Climbing them, that’s why I called them monumental
Some of these things are open, some are not as …ripe?
Guys this stuff is weird- even alien I’d say.
The whole presentation is really well done, both graphics and sounds are absolutely 100% perfect. Masterclass once more- for Frontier Devs.
More Spoilers
When you use the biological sampler to scout the area, some parts shine of a brilliant green… those parts can be examined and samples collected.
Odd name… who chose it?
HOW WOW! Wish I could record it- there’s a gurgling sound, now and then and the ripe/opened … “fruits”? eject a large cloud of … seeds?
Here, one in action
Was I wise to get this close? Needless to say if this was a movie I’d have failed the “dumb guy getting too close test”
All in all, I hope this means we are getting planets with thicker atmosphere, and water and all that. About time.
The good news is that a new Community goal has been put into action.
FYI: I’ve jumped Fei Lo to a star about 50 LYs from HIP 98621 just so I can have a look around there tomorrow.
Dang things are cool. The surface of the planets however are smoking hot! Almost died getting samples because i wasnt paying attention.
The CG rewards a G5 suit if in the top 75% so thats pretty cool too
I did try to collect more than one sample but (at least yesterday) crashed whenever I got the collect the third part of another sample. Will try again. I’d love to have a G5 suit.
I was able to collect 4 samples. It was the same 3 samples 4 times. If you find a spot that has 3 different samples close and easy you could easily knock out a bunch of them pretty fast. made $9 mil off 4 samples too.
