It will be available for in-game money… but only in a while.
I cannot understand Frontier’s behavior.
That’s literally stupid.
But then again, after David Braben left everything felt ‘lesser’.

Like every game that’s long in the tooth E:D struggles with cashflow to allow continue paying their dev team.
Frontier downsized the team significally but still have to find new streams of revenue.
I actually like the choice to make the new toys available for money exclusively for a few months before adding it for everyone to the in game ship yards.
What you say makes perfect sense. Besides the micro-transactions the only other cash flow Frontier gets is with the major pay add-ons and those are far and few between.
I would love to know how many NEW players have bought the base game over the past couple of years but my instinct tells me it’s a trickle.
This is only for Steam but it shows that the current number of people playing the game is well below the all time peak.
I need to give this another shot when I get home tomorrow. I still have no clue what I’ll be doing in trying to do AX stuff, like at all, but I’m sure it can’t be too hard.
Just get some AX Enhanced Multicannons at a rescure mega ship a go hunt some Scouts.
Krait II or Chieftain are good AX ships.
I logged in today, for the first time in… I dunno, years.
Just so I could get my free Anaconda paint job (I will never pass up free stuff even if I will never use it), Only to discover that all my modules have ‘legal issues’. Looked it up and it is due to an outstanding bounty?
I just need to find a Station with the relevant Agent so I can pay the fine… Anyone know how I can search for said Station?
Edit: Never mind. Inara to the rescue.
Heheh me too… Ended up playing an hour and a half.
I said playing? I meant working… The whole set up was gone and had to rebind the controls.
I may sound bitter but it was like coming back home. Gosh I forgot how much I like this game.
Very watchable bit of marketing there. It ALMOST made me want to dive back in. Curious, was anyone here witness to a Titan destruction?
Yes. I took part in the first four Titan kills and watched the second one explode live. It was a very impressive set piece. It did get a bit monotonous after a while though.
Also: Breaking news:
Oh color me impressed.
Coupled with a very nostalgic plunge in the cockpit yesterday I might actually re-start playing. If nothing else at least to get a hold on the new ships.
The newest Python Mk.II would look amazing in a dark livery and named “Allanon”.
The last Titan has fallen and will detonate tomorrow morning at around 06:45 UTC. I would encourage anyone interested to log on and watch it live as this is probably the last time you will be able to experience it. It is a unique experience.
If there is sufficient interest, I might create a private group so you can take part without worrying about any pesky gankers. I doubt there will be any anyway but you can never tell.
Can you “video” it? I wouldn’t mind seeing it
Good news! Sounds like I can make my way back in from the vast nothingness of uninhibited space and rejoin humanity for a little bit.
Not sure I can, but I’ll bet there will be dozens of live streamers who post it on YouTube tomorrow.
No chance I’ll be up at that hour. But I’ll sleep in peace knowing that menace is no more. Thank you for your service!
I’m guessing that’s 1645 on 19th Dec my time?
Already too late to add it to the schedule if it is today, I still have to clear a bounty, that is about the time we are tending to the ponies for the evening… But, I am not far away at all (Delta Pavonis) so I am very tempted to witness this ‘for real’.
Meh!, overrated…
If I was out in the deep black (like I usually am/was), I would be staying there.
Well it happened! I couldn’t get video recording to work but I did get some screenshots to give a flavour of the event:
If there is any “contamination” from the explosion, as has been suggested by some, then it looks like it will land on the west coast of the US / Canada. So I should be fine here in the UK
