New custom ship kits for Viper Mk.III, Python and Anaconda!

My Keelback is a favorite ship. I re-outfit it for anything from mining, cargo, passengers, to exploration. One of my favorite ships, I should probably have a fleet of them, lol! I fitted mine with Military Grade Armor, and it’s got like 1,000 points of armor strength, plus the 4A shield.

Anybody working on the “Ancient Ruins” mission shooting for the $100 million credit prize? Finding the mission itself was a bit of a puzzle, but now I’m on my way. Should be a fun change of pace for me.

I’m curious about it, especially the $100 million bit

Is it a mission where just one person solves it or is it something like a rares mission that requires lots of distance? I’m currently trying to grade 5 engineer the FSD on my ASPx, so am actually thinking of heading out the bubble for the first time (vanity project to at least put my name on a moon). This alien stuff might mean it’s a bad time to leave as I’ll probably run into an unlocked Thargoid system without a single pulse laser to my name…

Do you use the fighter much? We tried it the other night, it was glorious!

OK, so I just arrived in HIP 20277 for some more bounty hunting with @CMDR_Fungerus.
In my new Diamondback Explorer. Once I have some decent money, I will outfit it for exploring, try my hand at fuel scooping and look for some high reward passenger missions.

I heard something about Sothis being the Mudspike home system? Is that a nice place to go on my first exploration trip?

We tend to congregate in our claimed system of Branglal, at Skripochka Gateway (the ‘Red Light District’) as the Mudspike sort of home base. It’s near to most things and has good missions and modules in stock.

I’ll update the players list thread to say this, as it’s not really very clear. As the ‘Wings’ feature only supports 4 people we just tend to use that list to add friends and then say hello in Open. It’s not very formal  :mudspike:

Ahh my home away from home, in Empire space.

It seems like each CMDR can profit independently. Currently, it looks like there’s a bug being looked at, so my (and I presume everyone else) progress is halted. Distances involved are modest IMO, about 300LY outside the main bubble area, no stations or other human sites out there.

But something I’ll keep up with as I can.

The smuggling CG is still going, real close to hitting tier 7, 500t will get you in to the top 50% as of last night, some quick money if you got something that can haul a lil bit.

Found me a couple of stars. I have not ran into a system with the stars that close.

Well…when you get that close a sun…I say…

Guys, I’m not sure if I can put this in any way that won’t end up with people looking at me in funny ways… but if you can’t afford VR ware (Oculus, HTC, etc…) just grab a cheap pair of Red-Blue 3D glasses and fire up Elite in 3D Anaglyph mode.

Yes, there is color smearing and yes it takes a bit to get used to that “hues” but for Crying Out Loud!
It’s… It’s… It’s THERE! It’s 3D and it’s THERE! THe cockpit immediately acquires a volume, the background is FAR from you, the fights are… something way more personal now!
Not to mention approaches to Stations, asterioids fields, and driving around in an SRV!
Guys, you HAVE to try it- we all have those around…

EDIT: after I calmed down- to select the Anaglyph mode you have to go to Options, GRaphics and in the 3D section drop-down to Anaglyph. There are two further settings, spacing and focus. For me it took a bit of tinkering there to find the best result- which is a far shot because there’ll be always something either out of focus or that requires you to adjust a bit.
I’ll add up a picture of what I use once back home. But guys- OMG if 3D is this- I can’t imagine how fundamental it’ll be in future gaming.

Shame more games don’t support this mode… :frowning:

Wow, i never knew elite did that.

Was a total surprise for me too…
I found these cool looking plastic red-blue glases and googled Anaglyph Games to see what was the word around.
Minecraft as well…

@Bogusheadbox, I swear- the simple fact of perceiving your body, the cockpit and the “external world” at different depths is worth having to withstand the colour loss…

Some folks here are actually caught up with 2015 tech.

I couldn’t believe that either… until you try you can’t imagine how valid actually it is.
Also cool Frontier did that.

Craaaaaaap. Time to see if I can get Elite to run on my old, slow laptop that can barely run World of Warships…
