Oooh wait- I totally misinterpreted your question.

I didn’t actually play DID EF2000 that much- but to be fair it was as realistic as Falcon 3.0 was to the F-16.

Interesting!

New VR implementation and optimzations with transition between full stereo to mono rendering

  • The engine will automatically render objects above a certain distance a single image shared between eyes to optimize GPU power (reduce load)

Man, I remember playing Falcon on my Amiga back in the 90s, then Falcon 3.0, Falcon 4.0, then the wild years with all the modifications, eFalcon, iBeta Realism Patches, Red Viper, FreeFalcon, OpenFalcon etc.

And now 4.38. We’ve come a long way guys …

Man, you guys are on it. I was just coming to post about 4.38.

I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.

That’s for sure! I have the same background as you, regarding Falcon, but fell off F4 in favor of IL-2. Did dip back into it occasionally, but then DCS came along.

What the BMS guys have accomplished shows extreme dedication and perseverance.
It’s impressive and inspiring…

Impressive is an understatement.

For at least ten years I’ve played BMS regularly while lurking the forum occasionally. At each update I couldn’t help but fall in love again. I wanted to do something to help. So, like a bunch of other fans, I offered money. And like everyone else I was told to put my wallet away. These early interactions were my only exposure to any members of the development team. Otherwise they’ve been largely quiet. I can’t name one of them. Iff there is a complaint or a wish posted on the forum, a mod may address it politely, but the team keep largely silent. They don’t get defensive. They don’t s***post. They don’t promise. They just collaborate in relative secrecy. It’s so damn professional and disciplined! For fifteen years they’ve done this—for free.

I hate to ask this, but WHEN?

I guess you have checked their website?

Says in a couple of days. All I know, I’m afraid.
