Games we are playing

I might be wrong on this but when I look at any of the ‘DLC’ on Steam and scroll down to the ’ MORE DLCS FROM THIS GAME’ section they all have a £29.99 price next to them.

I’m reading lots of reports of people having bad frame rates and stutters with Reach though so depending on how it works for me I may be using the Steam refund button again.

That’s a terrible gutting thing to hear. I think I’ll wait a little longer

So with this neck injury I’ve been pretty much limited to games on my MacBook Pro. So far, Pillars of Eternity (played it before; this time a Rouge Dwarf), Stellaris, and trying Surviving Mars.

I haven’t “caught on” to Surviving Mars yet. Did the tutorials but they don’t really explain the how to work through a strategy; what to build first, when to build a dome, how much to build in one area before starting in another. Plus the research choices seem pretty random.

On GOG, I saw a pre-order for Surviving the Aftermath, which looks to be a post-apocalyptic Surviving Mars-like game. Interesting but since I’m struggling with SM…

Is that a Dwarf with rouge on their cheeks?

I like PoE and have PoE2, both only touched briefly but very good.

Ok this might sound silly but I am really into Minesweeper these days.
But of course I play a version that doesn’t involve guessing, since guessing sucks and ruins the game for me.

Simon Tatham (of PuTTY fame) made this version.

I got Halo Master Chief Collection - the game runs great for me. No stutters, no input lag with Vsync on, you can adjust FOV. Mouse and keyboard controls feels great. Had to increase mouse sensitivity a bit in game options.

I’ve seen posts on Steam forums with reported problems, which is understandable given PC’s thousands of possible configurations. Fortunately for me all is fine.

The prices are 10$ for Reach which is currently available and 40$ for entire collection. The thing with each DLC costing 40$ was a bug.

Also Very Positive Steam reviews indicate majority of players are satisfied with that port.

That makes me slightly happier. Thanks @damson :+1:

Wow, that’s quite a fun version. Definitely more of a thinking game now you know there is a logical path forward, rather than getting frustrated and just clicking a random square even though there might still be a logical move. Will check out the other games on his site too.

Might I suggest Kerbal Space Program? I have sunk hundreds of hours into that one over the past 8 years.

I’ve been dealing with similar situation for awhile.

I started using Steam Link to play whatever from my main PC. Supports Xbox controllers, etc. I also don’t have to listen to MacBook fan as much.

I got a refund on halo. Ran fine, looked nice but played old which it is but I just wasn’t looking at it with rose tinted glasses and couldn’t see myself forcing my way through the rest of the games.

I was hoping you would update us on this situation…

You should look at joining us online in Naval Action - nothing like high seas action in the age of iron men and wooden ships.

No Man’s Sky is also very pretty. Even if I have no idea what I’m doing in it yet.

Is Naval Action still a thing? I had watched it go hither and yon trying to find a workable play style for it’s player base. What did they eventually settle on?

I think it is? I’m just getting into it- @Bogusheadbox and @klarsnow can say more.

They lost me with the high speed ships zipping around in the main map. I did enjoy the real-time engagements in the early beta though.

I could never figure out what Naval Action Legends Beta was/is. I installed it once, nothing happened.
