Games we are playing

It’s not because the asskicking I served you on fight club is it? :frowning:

@MiG21bisFishbedL ah, total war, I have such fond memories. I havent found time to play since… shogun2 I think. Great games, but they take a lot of time and mental energy.

They’re definitely an exertion, at least the latest installments. The first Rome you can relax to, but Rome 2’s depth requires you to pay attention, fully.

I lost that loving feeling.

Nothing wrong in taking a break  There’s also quite a lot of different aspects you can do. I’m finding the peacetime oilrig-hauling in the Hip very enjoyable and challenging in a different way to the jets. Just saying! Not trying to drag you back or anything…nossir

Wow! You guys seen this? A proper MBT MilSim dedicated to the Fuldga Gap defense scenario of the '80s!

Everything you said there was highly erotic.

I know right?

That’s why I don’t fly (or race, or fight FPS or RTS or whatever) H2H online.

I game to relax. Getting beaten by other people in a game that is one of many for me (I have literally dozens installed) and is obviously the ONLY thing the other person does (maybe to the tune of 5+ hrs/day 7 days/week) is not relaxing, it creates stress.

So games without AI opponents I can scale to where I want them get no attention from me. Going through life every day without taking a knife to your wrists is enough challenge for me, I want my games easy.

Whoa hyperbole much mate?

I feel the same way to a out most PvP. I have great fun doing friendly sparring, but I rather not confront random people with all their intentions on “pwning” me.

Anyway, I finished the Jedi game, Fallen Order. It was great. Turned it to story mode difficulty on failing a boss fight five times. Like you said, no need for games to be a stressor in a life that has enough of those.

I adore the game’s conclusion. What a great star wars story. Jedi being actually wise in their actions, that went above my expectations.

Thank you @Aginor for selling me on that game. It’s been a trip.

How about a game I’m thinking of playing…

Is this $20 of fun? or $28 for all the extra missions?

I’m not concerned with fidelity of flight here, just like, is it something enjoyable to play.

Looks Exciting! Not sure about the “realistic sorties” claim…but I’ve been out of the Navy for a while so maybe they have fielded forcefields…

It’s one of those games where you switch your brain off and enjoy the pretty visuals and crazy over the top story. Its bloody difficult in places though.

Got a rough estimate of playtime in hours?

20 bucks should definately be worth it. about ten to twelve hours i’d say.

I personally love the Ace Combat series - been playing it since AC4 on PS2. AC7 is return to good AC games, the Assault Horizon (from 2012) was awful gameplay wise. It may seem simplistic, but it’s good arcade fun and pretty challenging at times. I recorded a playthrough of it, you might want to check it out:

If you have XBox Game Pass it’s available there for free.

Too bad it’s not on the PC version of the game pass, think i’ll pick it up though. Are the DLC missions worth picking up (deluxe is only $28)

I would say yes - there are three but they get quite complex and diverse and take 40-60mins to complete IIRC.
