Yeah, they said that a only a certain portion (half, i want to say?) were allocated to direct orders, rest were spread across re-sellers.
IMO, that’s part of the mess they are in; 100% of first few weeks should be rewarding direct buyers. Instead, the situation now means it’s a crap shoot for buyers as to where-to-buy-and-when. I’m guessing many of the retail arrangements were made before the run on flight sim controls started by the launch of MSFS though.
Of course, all of this is coming at the worst possible time of the year to not have your retail game together: the holidays. It’s clear Honeycomb was blindsided though, so can only blame them so much. In the end it’ll all be worth it, I’m sure.
After years of my HOTAS always being tied together, such as my old TM setup, or my G940, I finally have a setup where all 3 pieces are completely separate. I mean, they’re all Saitek/Logi but they all have a separate USB interface and a separate driver.
I could never use the G940 throttle or pedals without the G940 stick, or use the TM pedals without the stick to plug them into, but now I could finally consider with my X56 and combat pedals to start replacing one piece at a time.
When I had to buy it all at once, I always had to keep the total cost down. Now if I just decide to replace the pedals alone, I can afford to budget a little more for them, and then replace say the stick a couple of years later, and so on.
Yeah, CH stuff was always good about that, but at the time I recall the Logi marketing material highlighting the All-in-one nature of the G940 as a “feature”, and clearly taking a shot at CH where you had to buy it all separate. If memory further serves, their racing setups were/are still the same.
These days everyone is doing the breakout thing. For racing gear, TM even does both; to support consoles the wheel hub can be a centralized unit for shifter and pedals, but also supports individual PC inputs. I suspect the market research indicated folks buy more when the hardware acquisition is 'bite sized" one-at-a-time style.
The G940 also revealed another fatal flaw with forced bundles: if one of the components was a lame duck (looking at you, buggy throttle trim wheel), the whole sku goes down the toilet. If they were separate products, just halt production of that one unit, address the issue, and get back to is and/or prioritize replacing that unit with a new version sooner. Sales of the other peripherals keep going on in the mean time.
Unfortunately, we received news from our factory today letting us know of a minor issue in production. The issue has been addressed and rectified. However, that did cause a delay in the schedule.
With that being said, our updated production schedule has Week 1 production completed on November 23rd 2020. All other production weeks will follow suit. We will be providing a shipping schedule as soon as all information has been reconfirmed.
All pre-orders made on our website will be shipped directly from our Hong Kong Office to ensure you receive the Bravo as quickly as possible. Typical shipping time is 3-7 days depending on the region.
For any customers who have placed pre-orders, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions with regards to your order.
We will follow up later this week to keep everyone notified and informed. Once again, we sincerely apologize for this delay. Our main priority is always to ensure that we deliver a product we are proud of.
I made a mistake by jumping on the thrustmaster airbus stick and throttle. Now I have the TM clamps and stick and who knows when the throttle is coming, I hear there’s problems with it, I guess I can sell it. I really need this.
Nice @PaulRix ! They are running about a week ahead of schedule!
Yeah I got mine a couple of days ago. I haven’t put much time into yet besides the setup and button assignments. Couple turns around the patch. But in a few hours I shall go on a marathon! Kids and wife locked out of the man cave!
Beautifully packaged. Great feel even though the controls are a mini version of the real deal.
No official drivers yet besides the generic windows setup. I’ve only dabbled in xplane so far. I read the recent MSFS update has some Bravo compatibility improvements.
