VR Flight Sim Guy got his G2 and looks at the DCS Hornet pit…
And looking at Aerofly FS2.
He goes on about the sweet spot being so much bigger than the G1.
But honestly, his through the lens filming is not on par with @BeachAV8R’s…
Edit: Forgot the video…!
And here’s one from XP11.
The through the lens video doesn’t do it for me though. I wish he did some stills instead. But those would be limited to 1080 anyway, in youtube.
I guess this comes down to trying to explain VR to someone who hasn’t tried it. Can’t be done, IMHO. Must be experienced.
But I guess the summary seems to be G2 is better than G1 and that’s pretty much as expected…
Absolutely. It really cannot be described when you have good hardware making it smooth, and good visuals making it more lifelike.
Lol, there are times when I screw up or something unexpected happens that my heart might prefer less realism. Even in 1946 when I am flying and flak explodes really close to me and I was not expecting it since I just flew into the flak field it really gets the heart to pumping.
Wheels
I’m with ya’ there. There are some instances in X-Plane or some other sim where I’m in VR and crash or CFIT or something and it gives me anxiety…
Starting to check it hasn’t just been left on our porch without the dogs telling me, . Stuck at home in lockdown and no Reverb G2 yet.
Are they shipping yet? I was under the impression that it would be late November, or early December.
Don’t think so. Not here in Norway.
The youtuber in the links above got a freebie from HP.
Maybe if you become an influencer. But be quick
MRTV got one too and released first impressions video for patreons. I stopped counting all the ‘amazing’ he used.
I’ve told them to call me first. Good dogs.
Zactly. Left having to trust the reviewer.
A “Hunt the Tunguska” mission I made (a small A2G campaign I’m building to better understand the engine) I was a little shocked at how jolting it was when the sneaky thing schwacked me while testing it the first time. I was turned around in my seat, looking aft and down trying to spot something visually (yeah, I know bad idea, but was curious), when WHAM! Holy Cow! That startled me and I don’t startle very easily.
Yeah, I liked his enthusiasm for sure but want to see more reviews from this crowd.
Today I got another e-mail from bestware.com, my G2 retailer. They say that the next week they should get the first batch of the G2 but it will be sufficient to cover just some 13% of their pre-orders, those made until 8 July 2020 They go on with some explanations and such… and also say that further deliveries from HP are unknown so far…
Then I checked my order and it says 7 July 2020. YAY!
I ordered from Connection 29 May. Found an email from early October. Nothing since.
“HP has announced that they will begin shipping HP Reverb G2 units in November. Deliveries will be prioritized based on your order date.
If you placed your order before September 24, 2020, you can expect to receive your headset in November. Due to high demand, customers who place their orders after this date will receive delivery as early as December.”
I heard that some Australia orders have already been delivered. Good for them for getting them before the rest of the world for once…
Same for me. Same date of order…
Did some quick calculations today.

Seeing that my RTX 2080 has a hard time keeping up in HiFi-VR, I think my next investment will be a GPU and I‘ll stick to the Samsung O+. No G2 for me.
