Yep, checked back yesterday morning and placed my order. It wasn’t just an email signup so that’s cool. According to that site, your credit card won’t be charged until it ships. anywho, excited to see the improvements.
At least the initial ”Pre-order” allowed for registration of non-US residents…

Oculus is the monster I know (and after this week I REALLY know it). My rig really can’t run anything more powerful anyway. Although…Fall is still pretty far away. We could all get hit by an asteroid, or a pandemic even.

Wonder when we’ll see major progress in FOV? I think I’d prefer to lose the scuba mask thing; give me the O+ pixel density but at human FOV. Come on Foveated (or similar) rendering. Admittedly when I’m really concentrating on something I don’t notice it as much.
Guess I’m just used to ‘leaning in’. Would at least like to try, say, 180-FOV. Perhaps it is a larger technical hurdle (wide FOV) than I realize.

Yeah, I haven’t been getting warm fuzzies over that one; been watching it since release, or at least up til a few months ago.

With local reseller it is sure tempting to try it.
What is actually the downside of Pimax? Just the lack of inside-out tracking?

The need for external tracking isn’t much of a problem for sit down VR like flightsimming, so that doesn’t bother me much.
For me it’s more about a lack of knowledge about Pimax. I don’t know anyone with experience from a Pimax headset. I have personal experience with Oculus and several Reverb users I trust sings its praise.
Wish I could try and compare them all.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. The 60hz mode and Half-Res mode should help people without 3080ti’s to have a good experience. 90% of games I play in VR stay stuck at 40fps and ASW active, So a 60hz option should be good number to hit. Probably smoother at 60fps without ASW than at 40fps with it. I’m assuming this would also allow for a 30fps with ASW option, which should be a number most peoples VR ready PCs can handle.

Alright… I couldn’t resist pre-ordering this. Looks like a big improvement over the G1 that I returned twice for issues. Judging by the pictures the shape of the lenses looks the same as the G1. I’m optimistic I can use my prescription inserts on it.
