I guess I just got used to leaving the Rift(s) plugged in all the time. I have noticed that I often have to disconnect and reconnect the G2 sometimes after powering up the PC because the headset doesn’t wake up on it’s own.
I haven’t been. The screens appear to be resting, so not that concerned.
Already since my G1 times I am disabling the device in device manager rather than connecting / disconnecting in order not to wear too much the connectors.
My G2 is sitting about 50km away in a depot. DHL do drive on saturdays so today might just be the day…
Now if only that dang 3080 got delivered, but still in the 138th spot on the waiting list for that
Me either…
I would use the freeware USBDeview from Nirsoft for that.
I have mostly used it for dissabling the Windows Power settings that make certain USB devices constantly turn on and off, like the TM Cougar MFD’s
It is so easy to find the correct registry entry with this.
Happy simming
Nice!
What world are you from? (Map in background is minor image of Pacific Ocean)
Good conversation is a sure way to get into a box. (A bit of Malbec helps make the tape come off a bit easier too…in my …cough…experience…)
First impressions: whoa pixels! All of them! Face plate seems about 12mm longer than it needs to be. Strap made the back of my head hurt fiercely. There’s most definitely a wrong way to wear it.
Edit: something’s off with Il-2. The pit was horribly distorted, like one eye was closer than the other. Wth.
Edit2: Found it. Opencomposite, which made for nice gains on the oculus would F up the 3D in the G2. It runs ok now. God do I need that 3080 stat!
Thanks for the honest opinion. The stock setup feels nice because it allows airflow in my face. I find the G2 does not fog up like the O+ did. I am putting in a Widmo order today. I will still try your mod for the FOV. It may be worth it.
I thinks a bit of Malbec has gotten me into boxes I could not converse my way out of…
How are the G2 controllers holding up with rechargeable batteries?
I have seen 1 review, where it is recommended to get 1.6V Ni-Zn AA cells instead of the more ordenary 1.2V NiHm cells.
Happy Simming
I just took some of the unused chrismas lights out of the box and decorated my simpit with them. Not only do they make the thing look less like a horrible monsters’ den, but they also improve tracking by no small amount, or so it seems to me. YMMV.
Merry, Merry Christmas.! May you and yours enjoy the holidays
