Only 12 hours? I have a Monoprice Maker Ultimate 3D (basically a Wanhao Duplicator 6 clone, from what I understand) and it would take 16+ for that shape, I think. I’m definitely a 3D printing novice, though.
What kind of build plate do you use? I have a lot of sticking issues.
Also, I’ve recently started having an issue where I get a single bad layer about 15cm from the base. It’s constant, one end of the print to the other, almost as if there’s a problem with the z-axis worm gear or something.
A heated bed with a magnetic PEI surface. Works really well.
Have you tried just running the print head up and down, to see if there is a problem somewhere? It doesn’t take much of a flaw in the roller track or worm gear to create a problem.
Printing another interface.
This one is 7mm closer to the lenses, compared to the HP original. It is also slightly wider.
Using Ultimaker Cura Slicer software for this print as I’m told that its tree support feature is better suited for this kind of 3D models.
Interesting question.
I weighed the left over supports and they came in at 26g. The actual printed part was 36g. About 40% of the entire print is waste material…
I have read about people re-melting the plastic and making new filament. Here in Norway we have plastic recycling, so it will be reused in some capacity, but still.
Someone could make good money if they made a small recycling unit that could sit next to your 3D printer that produced new filament from discarded material.
Got my Reverb on 31! So i’m among the lucky ones who got it in 2020!
First try was a meah! My 2080 super is really struggling ( while with the Odyssey was great!)
than changed the settings and things improved a little! But still waiting they deliver me a 3080!
Headset feels much lighter and fits better than Odyssey but at the same time i miss the closing ring on the back of samsung to fix the fitting!
Love image quality of the cockpit (now can adjust the altimeter pressure in warbirds) and overall!
for dogfight i need kore framerate!
ordered prescription lenses from widmo VR
and would inprove the FOV, so @Troll pls add me to the queue for the mod!
I have some small frame, John Lennon type glasses that I used to wear like 25 years ago that I use in my headset. Weird that the prescription feels just right. After my eye exam later this month I’ll get WidmoVR lenses…
I will probably get some lenses too. I just visited the optician a couple of weeks ago, so I could just use that prescription.
How much do these corrective lenses add to the headset lenses? And are they attached to the lenses or the face interface…?
I still think VR is the damned coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Did some cats and traps in the F-14 tonight with night and rain settings…it was terrifying…
Oh say it again! Game-changer for me. Or more like Game-revitalizer. Has spawned other interests it seems too.
The parts for my new rig are, slowly, trickling in. Currently I have to run DCS with low settings to keep it smooth, but it’s still very, very compelling. Looking forward to an upgraded image/experience once it’s all complete.
Here’s the latest interface print. No padding, but it is below the lens… No way you could use this with lens inserts. You would need a lot of padding, and that would probably just defeat the purpose of having a closer interface.
Here’s a pic of the earlier printed interface, with 8mm hard foam padding.
Even this one would be too close to the lens inserts. But this interface has a more narrow curvature, so it rises above the lens…
@apollon01, could you post a pic of the headset with lens inserts and interface on?
If you put a ruler on the upper and lower edge of the interface, how close is it to the lens insert?
