You would be correct. Horrible place. Noble foods.
I got a horrific telling off there for using my index finger to write Cher- in front of Noble in the dirt on a trailer. Bloody eggs.
I had a guy deliver to a Co op distriburion centre somewhere (Andover I think) and didn’t shut his back doors and spat 26 roller pallets full of eggs all over the A34 in rush hour. That was a great phonecall
Gotta love this race to the bottom we got going in prices for products of all kinds. Of course the little guy at the bottom gets ground up in the name of the fat cat’s bonus.
Is this where the mouse won’t work in DCS when you have the headset on? I ran into that last night.
I have hand controllers laying around, so if this ever happens I bring up the in headset ‘windows start menu’ thing by pressing the ‘windows key circle’ on a controller, then don’t select anything from that menu but press it again to make it go away. That way reliably gives focus back to the app for the mouse. If you don’t have a controller around then I think mashing left Win + Y does the same.
Exactly. Funny, it doesn’t happen often enough that I remember how to solve it. What has helped a lot sorting out the G2 is plugging into a USB 3.0 hub which has a power switch for each port. So to recycle or power down my HMD, I just press a button.
I sort of feel environmentally evil now, I’ve never powered off the headsets I’ve had. The Rift, Odyssey+ and Reverb all sort of just stay on, in standby mode when not used. The standby mode bit of heat means the lens don’t get cold so I don’t get fogging, plus doesn’t feel too hot when I use it. I plug the devices direct into to my Gigabyte Z390 (the Reverb in a USB3 one) and I’ve been lucky to never have any issues. I think the O+ was the one most sensitive to USB power issues. My G1 Reverb doesn’t have a separate power brick, but I think the G2 one does nowadays?
I left my previous HMDs all permanently powered up, but I swear I have fewer issues with the G2 powered down when not in use. I’m doing it mostly because of the G2 being warm when in sleep mode, but am happy to help the environment too.
I’m too afraid of power spikes or lightning strikes, I have my entire PC on a power strip that gets turned off when not in use.
Maybe I should unplug it instead…
Same here. I’ll end up in that problem and not remember how to fix it. Sort of like how I never know how to get rid of the controller axis and crew/weapon status overlays in the Huey. No memory of certain things.
Same. Maybe that is keeping them alive…
well my problem started when I did as HP suggested and that was to unplug the power when not in use
I posted about this problem earlier.
And @Freak suggested this, which seems to have fixed the problem.
I tried that but it didn’t work. Everytime the headset noggin sensor activated, the mouse froze in DCS.
anyway, is here anyone happily using different head set from the common trio - Rift S, Index, Reverb?
This may be the solution. Last night I was fumbling around cursing and swearing until I picked up a controller and hit the ‘turn on’ button. When it came on, the mouse was alive! I tried the kbd>left Win + Y combo a few times last night and the night before and at one point it seemed to work, but then it didn’t. I could not get it to do it’s magic reliably.
Ahh! I missed that! I will try it later! Thanks!
@haukka81 was using a Pimax 8K maybe (?) - but I seem to recall him recently saying he might be considering an alternative. Once again…I think we are all waiting for the next big thing. I’m very happy with the Reverb 2 - but poised to be very unhappy about it if it stops working…
A mailman came. With a package. In it was a new tail for my HMD. And…
Awesome man…! Great to hear. Wish we could pre-order a tail…
iirc he also switched (or wanted to) to G2
