The former Arma Ceo, David Lagettie, created TitanIM/TitanVanguard, which uses the Outerra engine with additions from partners like Calytrix, selling it to militaries worldwide. Now the engine is advanced enough that Microprose is apparently ready to use it, adding in the final polish and graphical bells and whistles the militarized version ignores. All three products get a boost. A virtuous circle?

He was the founder of Bohemia Interactive Australia which made VBS. For Flashpoint he did some of the music (Seventh), same for ArmA.

Looks like this might have flown in under the radar. David Lagettie, the CEO of the newly-reconstituted MicroProse brand announced that 2020 will see two new titles for release.

Looks like they’re releasing new versions (or possibly remasters) of M1 Tank Platoon and B-17 Flying Fortress.

I never played the originals of either of these two. Ought to be interesting to see what they come up with.

The last B-17 Flying Fortress is available on GoG:

It’s a fun game, but it’s a shame they couldn’t get the originally hoped-for multiplayer multicrew component in the game before it shipped.

ā€œGlobal scaleā€? That could mean a lot of things. Global like MSFS, global like DCS, global like R6 Siege?

Personally, I’m not up for taking off in an Apache in the UK and flying it to Ukraine on a deployment before starting combat. I know some people would enjoy that, but that’s too much like work for me.

I’m in.

I mean, let’s be honest. They’d have the Apaches broken down and flown to the theater in cargo planes.
Now, flying the cargo planes from UK to Ukraine- that could be fun.

Multicrew VR capability in an M1 tank or a B-17 bomber is potentially very, very cool.

I’ll be honest… I highly doubt that sort of money is involved.
I mean, I’ve been wrong before…

Sure, but given the history track of ā€œHistorical Game Devs REBORN!ā€ I’d rather keep little to no faith/enthusiasm and be surprised if they pull it off rather than dream big and be let down.
Just me being a realist.
Or Nihilist?
