MSFS 2024

I had the same experience with my first leg of the Xmas flight in the H125. I thought it had been reported as a bug, that the trim button doesn’t do anything.

Bonkers that they don’t want to include force trim as it’s a nice helo to fly.

I suppose enabling a trim is a rather simple edit in one of the config files.

Those files, we are not able to access in MSFS 2024.

I dont know if it was just placebo but I discovered yesterday that my XP11 install runs with better fps in openGL mode compared to vulkan.

btw same here, will wait for the msfs24 to mature.

interestingly I like sims like XP11, msfs20, sims which are out of the update/upgrade cycle. no need to wait for the downloads to finish before one gets to the flying part.

I managed to came across some commercial off-the-shelf extensions for ps5 controller. workes like a charm. atm using the ps5 controller as the ‘throttle-quadrant’ with flight sims.

came to the realization that I need the stick in my right hand

during the recent steam sale I bought myself aeroflyfs4. realized that its not that realistic as they claim it to be so tried to refund it.

unfortunately / fortunately the refund didnt go well and I own aeroflyfs4 now.

will see how keen is this dev team to update the EC135 as it lacks in some areas.

unfortunately we are caught in a era when we have many different sims available to us but without single sim which captures the essence of realistic flying thoroughly.

definitely aeroflyfs4 is sim which is smooth as a silk with high fps count. but the realistic part died imo with justflight’s thwarted ambitions (weak sales) in previous rendition of aerofly the aeroflyfs2

Even without the trim, I’ve been having a grand time with the career. The SAR missions are very challenging. That’s without having progressed to the hoist yet, where things will get even more difficult. As for the trim I just hold full forward thumbstick and use collective for pitch. It’s anything but realistic. But it works and it’s easy.

@Troll, that 3D printed stick is very clever.

Arriving to Utah Lake, descending to 11k ft and getting ready for ILS rwy 34 in KSLC.

Lots to unpack here. Good news: free aircraft inbound. Bad news: we all may want to reinstall.

This looks interesting.

I guess you dont own the CowanSim rendition of H125. wondering if that one has trim. I own it only for XP. but can check anyway

I do have it and it did. He sells the same for MSFS as well but Asobo opted to make their own. (The new Career mode does not allow the player to choose the machine for the mission.) According to several pilots on the flightsimulator.com forum, Asobo is correct, very few AS350/H125s have trim. The rage against Asobo isn’t so much that they’ve picked this one event to play the “realism” card*. It’s that the helicopter half of the Career mode is dominated by the H125. If you can’t fly it, you can’t participate in the one massive new feature that sells MSFS2024 over 2020.

*Also, they are being selective about realism. The real R66 does not have trim except as an option called HeliSAS which the Asobo version does not have. Yet for the R66, they’ve included trim.

Sorry if I missed it earlier in the thread…but are the career missions always with the stock/included aircraft? If a 3rd party complex aircraft/helo appealed to you…is there a way to get it into the career mode?

I’ve been to a lot of airports in the U.S., Caribbean, Mexico…Central America… I think SLC is one of the most scenic on the arrival…particularly in the winter…

So far, yes.

Currently, no. I hope that’s something that changes. I have no desire to do anything with some of the stock aircraft, especially if I have far better payware versions of the same thing.

True. But I am trying to be open minded. Their forum is a whirlpool of complaint and conspiracy—to which I to my regret have contributed. An example being that Asobo is making insurance payouts so difficult because they are setting up a micro-tranaction scheme by which players pay them real money to get in-game currency (credits) so that you can keep your company afloat. And while I do believe that it is true that we can buy credits, I don’t believe Asobo is thumbing the scale to make more millions. But think about it. This is FLIGHT SIMULATOR!

And it’s got this feature that makes the above paragraph possible. I’m no @BeachAV8R. I had no aspirations of running a virtual airline. I just wanted a reason to fly. But now I’m not so sure. Sizing oneself up against thousands of other conquistadores del cielo in the world’s biggest virtual aviation ecosystem sounds interesting. So if the current super tight control is what it takes in order for them to get a hand on this mess and possibly make it great, I will be patient.

(Why this sudden display of magnanimity? Under great community pressure, they have agreed to fix the trim!)
