Just a heads-up

Interesting, or gimmicky?

I have been waiting for this for ages: long enough that I thought they had been cancelled for some reason. Instant purchase!!! Just Flight - Floyd's Epic Clouds

It seems to run sweet. Hope the PC version will not get compromised due to another console being thrown to the equation.

Btw what does a pre-beta mean? Alpha?

It says Pro, not Pre.
I’m guessing it runs on a PS5 Pro.

Ah, indeed. Makes sense.

I also read Pre, at first

Lots of good ones on sale. Interesting that the sale coincides with the announcement that FS2024 sales have finally surpassed FS2020. So little time…

so little money …

not on the discounted addons per-se , but on the hw I need to pay for to run msfs reasonably well

dont know what I was thinking when I bought my current nb feat 3070 . I checked the nb tests I reviewed back then and they show the same numbers for msfs as before ( surprisingly ) , 1080p at 80fps , 1440p 60fps pancake

for comparison I run dcs and afs4 at 1440p 100fps and thats bearable

probably I wasnt planning about flying msfs that much back then !? so I am withholding any msfs purchases until I figure out financial plan for my next hw upgrade …

… but maybe its time for the sim update . there seems to be some performance to be gained in the update process from 2020 to 2024 . need to check more comparison videos I guess

I still have FSX and 2020 in my library, and enjoyed the Nemeth Designs SA-2 Samson (from the Avatar movie), and the Super Bug. But I was hoping they would do it for 2024 though. Anyway I don’t play MSFS2024 that much (I’m mainly stuck in Arma 3) and want to record more short videos though.

They’ve made sea rescue a little easier. The confusing orange smoke is gone, replaced by a hover radius around the raft. I still find it a challenge to hover over the tight circle with nothing for reference but waves. But it is doable now. Now that I have a couple of successes, I’ll probably not do one again. They are pretty boring tbh.

Just a heads-up from their Discord

@everyone

FSLTL Base Models 1.6 available in FBW installer

(please close MSFS before updating)

  • Added A306/F,
  • Added B734/F,
  • Added B744 (pax),
  • Added B78X,

Liveries:

  • Over 130 new or improved liveries,
  • Expanded Historical liveries for Vatsim users on popular older model types (e.g. A343),
  • Added Vatsim Worldflight 2025 Team liveries,

Refreshed .vmr file for VATSIM

  • Added B773 to VMR generator script,

Lighting:

  • Added new lighting control to allow taxi lights to be visible at all times for active aircraft and runway turnoff lights to be on at night and in certain weather conditions
  • Applies to A306/A306F/A359/B734/B734F/B744 models, will be expanded in the future,

Model changes & fixes:

  • A359: Fix main wheel roll animation,
  • B733: Fix missing windows; optimize animations,
  • E190: Rebuild to (hopefully) fix landing issues; add steering animation,
  • MD11: Rebuilt light config and animations,
  • Added missing dome options to A320 & B738

NOTE: Some liveries may show all available domes until liveries are updated,

Sounds:

  • All sound packages have been rebuilt with a lower priority (85 vs 100)
  • This will hopefully help with AI sounds overriding sounds from some 3rd party user-flown aircraft,

Livery list on the website has been updated.

NOTE: Due to required changes in our build process, we highly recommend uninstalling Base Models and reinstalling. Doing an Update instead will still work, but you won’t save any time doing an update, and a clean install is preferred.

iirc even FSX didnt break records in optimization . when it was released the bad performance was declared as to be ahead of then current hw . and seems like it is still ahead even today , lol

few more fun facts . reviews on steam are still in the Mixed range . and in few more days it will be one whole year from its release .

I mean yeah FSX wasn’t the greatest, but overall it was stable too in some ways. Never had much issue with it myself.

I moved to FSX only after it was released via steam , so quite late . but sure didnt have any issues with it . but I didnt stress it that much either , not many addons etc

I’m kinda thinking of reinstalling it so I can fly the SA-2 Samson though. I don’t think I have the Super Bug anymore. And if I did I may not have the code though.
