He deserves some credit for his continuous efforts to improve and bring new features to his addon. Clearly an exception.

It looks pretty good. Definitely my next purchase. To be honest, it’s the only jet I’ve liked so far.

As usual with Just Flight, it’s visually stunning. Seems to run smoothly in VR too.

How does she fly compared to the T-45C?

That’s a good question
I’ll do a few flights for a side by side comparison and I’ll report back.

After having flown both this morning, I have to say that Just Flight’s offering is worth the extra money. The aircraft just seems more alive. Some of that is due to the very well done sound set, but the flight model just seems more authentic. Systems wise it is more comprehensive too
for example, the IndiaFoxtEcho T-45 doesn’t have a working RAT and subsequently no emergency hydraulics should the engine fail. It does simulate not having any hydraulic pressure on the control surfaces though (the controls become ineffective).

Kill the engine on the JF Hawk though, and the RAT pops up into the airflow and you still have control

One thing I did note was that the RAT is silent. I have done several RAT/ADG drops on the Challenger and Global and silent is not how I would describe it . Granted, different airplanes, and different positioning of the RAT.

Overall the JF Hawk makes the IndiaFoxtEcho T45 look rather ‘lite’ when you compare them.

I much prefer the steam gauge panel too

Thanks for the update! That’s good to hear. I liked the T-45C but also thought that it was a bit, mechanical(?), feeling.

I wasn’t sure whether it was just an MSFS flight model limitation or not. Sounds like not.

I just wish that the Hawk had the T-45A cockpit. A nice compromise between the full steam of the Hawk and the full digital of the C.

Thanks for that comparison. I’m glad I waited for the Just Flight Hawk T1 which is both visually stunning and rather delightful to fly. Naturally I went through the Mach Loop along with everyone else no doubt but I really enjoyed doing some aerobics over RAAF Edinburgh where my son has just been posted to. What an enjoyable aircraft. I even felt like I knew what I was doing! It is performing very well indeed in VR for me. It is my first purchase from them and I think they have done a wonderful job in regard to VR as well. I can’t fault it.

Played a bit of the Reno Race DLC and not overly impressed. If you’re curious about it then definitely wait for the final release and some reviews. The new network code is good, dust clouds are nice, the dynamic commentary is ok, the aircraft look fantastic but the racing is a bit boring.

They need to add more complex engine management and things like blown engines and fuel strategies or something. It felt like I could just follow the racing line with the throttle pegged and win. I’m not much of a racer either, so this might all be wasted on me. Technically it was all good, but I think this just suffers from the nature of the racing and the lack of system modelling depth in the aircraft you get (4 types of the P-51 Mustang, T-6 Texan, L-39 Albatross and the Pitts Special S1S). Mind you, for $20 it’s not terrible value. As this was a beta maybe they’ll tweak and extend it before release. I should also say I only fiddled with it for 30 mins. Just the one race and done, so I might not be giving it a fair shake.

Here’s someone’s VR video - with their player ID all over it. Not sure of the NDA status actually

Going around in circles often is
I haven’t tried it, but I agree that they would have to add some complexity, to make it fun.

I should also say I know nothing about air racing, so me picturing some sort of mixture/prop fiddling being needed could be projecting that I just don’t like racing that much and it’s a racing DLC after all

For all I know they could just peg the throttle and aim for the pilons like that. I only had one race and for 8 laps it seems pretty long. The $60 version comes with 40 aircraft variants, with each one unique, so I’m thinking I’m probably missing the point of it. I might pick up the $20 pack, just because you get those aircraft to fly in the base game, and at $5 a pop it’s a good deal.

The closest I have ever been to participate in an airrace is when ATC tell me to keep the speed up to be number one ( for the approach)

But I do imagine there is some engine management going on. I doubt they all agree on a manifold pressure.
Looking at this video, at the second third or so, you can see a quadruple image of a flight. Looks like he just sets the power and fly. But he also monitors the temps and pressure to see if he needs to adjust.

You are begging too much for default aircraft  Nowadays the default (all birds made from core devs) are much better than older times BUT sadly they are far away from what you can get in a A2A type of quality with accusim.

Usually it is, but its the only way that they could figure out, without introducing weapons, to keep the kids happy trying to measure who have the biggest joystick

I see it as being a framework that will be much improved with 3rd party aircraft, scenery etc. much like MSFS itself.
