MSFS - Multiplayer Information

Here are some screens I took (not so great quality but they show some action in the caribbean.

But first one that I took over Karlsruhe, Germany. The trees are too many and too big, but the castle (and also the rest of the city) is very recognizable.

Some interesting flying there.

Thanks.

Agree. All our sims tends to excel in different particular areas.
MSFS seems to shape as great sim for the annual flights / fly-ins where we can fly some legs together online. For the rest still XPlane for me.

First, it was “Cow Tipping”…

now it’s “Caravan Tipping”.

I’m good. I’m good, I’m good. Oh, I’m upside-down.

That 208 takes an age to slow down…

You just really, really wanted to get to the beach! It IS a beautiful beach. We should have all been flying Icon A5s and that way as we ran out of runway…

I admit I “cheated” when landing with the Caravan there.
I only had 20% fuel on board.

With the 152 it was relatively easy.

Had a great time with @fearlessfrog and @Fridge this afternoon on an impromptu little flight around Lethoso. We were using this map as a bit of a base reference…starting from FXME and wandering westward hitting strips of various topography.

It was…simply stunning and so much fun to fly in loose formation with some friends…

We were sharing the same weather conditions, time, winds, turbulence, etc…it was a very shared experience for sure!

The terrain…all default and generated by the sim…is simply stunning…

On the base leg to one of the plateau airports…

On the next leg…we had a hilarious mishap. Up at 9,000’ or so we were headed to our next stop and we hit a bit of cloud…well…temps were -4 or -5 and we all immediately started accumulating ice…!

Things were getting dire indeed. We turned south and headed down in altitude hoping to drop into a nearby strip…all of us wondering if the ice was going to melt off or not. We could all barely see…but also compared notes and felt like the icing was unique to each of us. @fearlessfrog had his ice disappear faster than us…so he must have gotten into warm air faster or not have hit the ice as bad as Fridge and I (though he suffered the same view as us…it just seemed to clear up faster…)

All three of us iced up and heading for our divert field…

Uh…I think I see you out there Fridge…Fridge?? Fridge???

I have enough visibility to see to land…!

After a landing and waiting a bit…we all noticed the ice was slowly melting off…

Stopped at a paved field to pick up some gas. The fuel dialog never came up, but you can still grab gas via the menu system…

Off we go again…

A fantastic group flight…with no connectivity problems that I could see (once we were established)…no warping…smooth…and just a fabulous experience. Very enjoyable and this sim is just gorgeous in so many ways. Hard to describe actually…

Those are really nice shots. It was a really good group flight, and looked so good. I didn’t expect Lesotho to look so nice, and it’s a beautiful place.

We’re going to have to limit the flights to groups - the world is getting crazy busy right now…

Looking at that overhead, I just lol’ed when looking above the Boeing. Two planes on a collision course.

Looks like general MP is a madhouse.

Yep, plus in busy places it really tanks performance, as 16L KSEA has like 30 A320’s all overlapping from their starting positions as they figure out buttons. Luckily the public can be turned off, although even over the remote hills of Lesotho today we spotted a couple of people in the distance.

Man, that looks like fun. Did you use discord for coms?

That is actually pretty cool when you think about it.

Yes, the in-game group thingy and voice on Discord just to chat. It was fun to hear us all go ‘ooh look a cloud - nice! Oh no, ice - I can’t see!’ at the same time. The clouds are MP sync’d, which was a pleasant surprise.

It was neat.

The sim has lots of flaws and things still unfinished, but when it comes to just exploring it’s great. All of @BeachAV8R’s pics were just out of the box streamed textures and autogen, but the buildings, vegetation etc all looked in keeping with the area. The lighting and weather/haze work well. I like not having to prepare orthos and just thinking ‘I’m going to Patagonia!’ and it works. The fact we can do it easily in a group is so nice.

No idea what happened to the previous 6066 iterations of me.

Things continue to…turn out poorly…maybe this run #6067 is The One…!

I’m gonna hop on and do a flight from KDEN over to KASE - a bit of a test of ATC in more complex terrain. Thinking of trying the LOC DME/E (though there is a 10 knot tailwind)… Flight Plan will be:

ROCKI5.DBL then to the LOC (I’m going to let ATC figure this out)…
