Yes, I have. I seldom use it, but now I tried to open it: I could see MSFS there, but no update was apparent.

Well, i get lots of updates to apps like Calculator and Cortana, but no update available for MSFS.

Thank you for trying to help!

:sunglasses: You are right, I have to be careful with the advice I get.

Don’t worry about it! Now just level your wings and slow down to 300kts and turn your nav lights and beacon on, there’s definitely nobody behind you…

This.

I haven’t flown for a few months, now have a 43GB update. Zzzzzzz

It’s a first world problem, as it’s fantastic to know they are updating and improving, but a little frustrating.

I’d like an option to play now update later.

It seems MSFS update now works for me. Yesterday it did not no matter what I tried. I guess sometimes you just have to sleep on it.

I mean, it only ever seems like Windows installs updates and restarts my computer when I’ve got it sleeping to maintain work I’m in the middle of until the next morning, or running large model simulations overnight.

Are they talking here about addons not being updated for the latest patch?

hey guys - is anyone having trouble downloading the v6 update? This is the first time I’ve attempted to to update MSFS on the day the update is released.

Or… is this normal for sim updates?

EDIT: nevermind there’s an issue: Connection lost - authentification failure (October 19, 2021) - General Discussion - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

Thanks!

Yes. Ideally, you would remove them all, update MSFS, then add them back one by one in order to detect any conflicts. Time and energy dependent obviously. Removing them all first is a good SOP though. That way you know whether or not you have a good update.

Ah cool, thanks. I only have the Mooney and the Arrow as addons, so fairly simple (expect I as about to start an Ireland tour in the Mooney and every time I plan a flight they update the sim).

Thanks for posting that, I’m having the same connection issue too. It looks like MS has acknowledged the problem in a tweet and are looking into it.

Edit: an MSFS forums moderator noted that they are working on the issue and will provide updates below:

Edit:

Looks like it has been solved - 95% downloaded now…

This is what works for me as a Steam edition user…

  • Use Addons Linker to create a preset with current enabled addons and then disable all.
  • Run Orbx Central to update MSFS addons.
  • Check Steam Downloads for MSFS updates. Download if available.
  • Launch MSFS and run the update.
  • Go to the Content Manager and update everything.
  • Take a flight in a default aircraft to make sure that that all is well.
  • Shutdown MSFS.
  • Go to flightsim.to and check for updates and conflicts with the current Sim Update.
  • Use Addon Linker to enable all non conflicting updates.
  • Launch MSFS and do a test flight in one or more addon aircraft.

Glad to see they’re fixing the high altitude temperature issue. I got that one last week, getting 66k fuel flow per motor on the A320 was quite a surprise.
