I’m told we are to “Keep Calm and Putt On” or something. A variation of that phrase is on every t-shirt in the United States… That and “Live, Love, Laugh”…
Don’t Worry, Be Happy is another one.

I prefer the other live laugh one…
Drive long and prosper.
Oh gosh…I just wanted this round to be over…
The greens are wicked fast…in a curious way…like downhill they rip…but uphill they feel sticky. Weird. And that default lighting gave me cornea damage I think. Guess I need a visor. I was all over the place. Literally.
Tomorrow (see what I did there ) for me.
I have only just got back from town after spending all day getting a windscreen replaced. The calibration took longer than it did for them to replace the glass.
I also picked up a DHL package from Lithuania and now have to unpack a Virpil collective and Apache grip.
Oh man…we may have lost you to LANDING on golf courses instead of PLAYING on them.
Hey…that gives me an idea…!
Once again the score does not begin to capture the emotional trauma. I missed 2 eagles, and 4 birdies all by less than 6".
A brief retrospective:
This one literally hooked off of the rim of the cup from a 12yd chip shot for an eagle.
Overall this course plays to my strengths, long holes where I can be aggressive off the tee and on the approach to minimize my putting issues. So, while it’s super aggravating to watch the ball roll just ever so close to the cup, I’ll take being 3 under for the front 9.
Just to have mastered those green speeds was an accomplishment. Bravo!
@BeachAV8R nah, just lucky as the following box score indicates.
The shorter holes on this half, combined with some definite miss hits on my part made this way more difficult than it needed to be. My shoddy putting didn’t help me any at all either.

I feel golf holes should have a 30cm diameter funnel structure to them. I mean…that should be close enough…
Maybe I should have, I wouldn’t have had nearly as many missed approaches. I think I found every bunker on the course… I haven’t played in that much sand since the last time I was at the beach
I am just lucky that my putting was better than average, because those greens suck
+20
15 Strokes better then on the previous course. At least the tendency is right.
Last round wasn’t too bad
I just could not ‘get my shite in one sock’… as we used to say. Particularly on the front nine.
Same as yesterday, you would swear I was aiming for those bunkers!
There was a long series of holes that I either managed to screw up a perfectly achievable eagle/birdie into par, or I somehow rescued what should have been a bogie or double bogie with a par. Good with the bad I guess.
I am thinking of inventing a new sport where the goal is to get as close to cup as possible without dropping the ball.
I’m so dumb. I didn’t get my second round in. I was going to do it this morning…but then thought…ah…I probably play better with a more mellow swing if I wait until tonight and have a beer or two and play.
Ooops… The tournament expired.
Anyway…I just put up another one. I think I picked the right course to match the PGA Tour event… PGA West. I pulled a user course and put it in there…hopefully it works. Given that this is in the Southern California area…with the drought and terrible Santa Anna winds…I went ahead and made it super firm…and super breezy on Day 2. I’m sure it will be stupidly challenging. I have it set for four days…ending maybe the 17th (?). I’ll try not to mess up my rounds this time.
Played the first round of the PGA West course. Wicked hard and fast greens. I am several strokes over after the first round. The second round should be stupidly harder with max winds…
Maybe I’ll give it a whirl…
Time got away from me today. But yeah, really looking forward to it
I would. It will be better than 50:50 that I will be taking a drop anyway
