That boat can really haul a**!
Did I ever tell y’all about the time we drag-raced our escorts?
Funny story there… YACHT RACING; A Surprise Cup Entry: An Aircraft Carrier - The New York Times
As for the other story, I’m working on it.
If its not restricted info…I’d very much like to hear that
Seconded…
Ahem…the official, unclassified top speed of any US Navy ship is 30-plus knots.
…except for those that cannot reach 30 knots.
At a flank bell, the mighty USS GUAM, 800lb steam plant driving a single shaft/screw, could get up to 21 knots!…with the current…and the wind behind it…going down hill…
Did anyone ever try to waterski behind one? Somehow I can imagine this happening way back in the South China Sea days…
LOL…You Tube has a guy being towed behind a destroyer I think… Rumor has it (according to comments) - HMS Nottingham.
Started a new thread. Figure we need a place for all of our assorted stories.
I mean, you could do it, though the whole getting up part would be a doozy, to say the least. A ship that big doesn’t exactly accelerate on a dime (I talk a bit about that in my sea story). Though if you could jump from the fantail and were a good enough barefoot skiier, you might be able to pull it off…
Well the graphics look good but the control screen looks pretty cluttered…how is it in VR?
For @komemiute. But really for everyone.
But really for @komemiute…
I mean… It’s a child of the A-6
EDIT: Yeah. He’s dumbing it down … mostly for himself
this?
