What they are doing with infantry has really elevated this ‘game’.
You really have to keep an eye out for the crunchies. But for your own guys, the friendly A.I. is pretty good at getting out of your way.
I’m finding it extremely hard to actually kill entrenched troops. I can make them duck. But i cant seem to hurt them
A properly constructed two person ‘fighting pit’ is surprisingly effective.
If you have dug it to Stage 3 (revetted with overhead protection/sleeping bays), you stand a pretty good chance of surviving an artillery barrage… nothing short of a direct hit will take you out.
As witnessed in every historical conflict from 1870 Sedan to the horrors of the Somme to the trenches of Zaporizha.
Suppress with air or artillery, to allow you to close, move into direct fire range and suppress with your organic weapons and let your own infantry get in and do the job of actually rooting them out. No clue if GHPC will actually let you do all that, but that’s in general how that’s supposed to work.
Thats what i assumed, get in to smacking range and let the dismounts deal with them.
Meh. Maybe I’m just useless
That’s about the gist of it. Flank them if possible because they will be oriented to bring their max firepower onto your (most likely) axis of advance.
Can i just say that this game is the best thing ever. It scares the absolute crap out of me
thats what a high explosive round is for ![]()
I tried that! Heat to the face and they pop up like bloody lemmings
That is horrifying lingo and I love it lmao.
Anyone remember Peter Weller’s mid-90s movie Screamers?
Burrowing drones designed to bypass those protections.
Oh my God, I was convinced that was a fever dream I had as a 12 year old.
LOL! I loved that horrid movie!
I can even remember where I was when I watched it. I was on duty in the guard room and one of the guys came back from the video store with an armful of VHS tapes including “this one has the guy from Robocop”
The Philip K Dick short story that this is based off of is excellent. I never knew they made a movie of it.
Am I the only one that paid to see it in the theater?
It wasn’t great, no, but it was entertaining and damn sight better than half the films my wife and I saw in the 90s when dating and first married.
Jamie Lee Curtis’ Virus anyone??
now that was a good “B” movie … I must admit I love those sort of films…
Deep Rising was another great B movie
That reminds me of one of the most infamous of that genre:
Deep Blue Sea
Like Snakes on a Plane but done so much better and with a cast that really sold it.
