I have just looked at it and the T150 RS PRO version comes with 3 pedals where the plain T 150 version only have 2.
Yep. I have the normal version. In retrospect I should probably have gotten the pro version but I didnāt want to spend the money without knowing that I enjoy racing so I got the cheaper one.
Now that Iāve realized the reverse gear option on my G27 Iām really happy with it and I think Iād get sloppy with 8 gates ā¦ like, Iād throw it into 7th when I wanted 5th or throw it into reverse when I wanted 6th. In the heat of battle, I NEED those two outer walls of a 6 gate shifter to drive the stick into gear. You can actually merge gates with the Thrustmaster software but I just donāt think Iād like it. If I didnāt already have a shifter, Iād probably get the Logitech G Driving Force Shifter.
This is coming from a guy who shifts for a living though. The last guy who gave me a transport truck driving road test wasnāt really happy with what he called my, ācowboy slap stickingā shifting LOL! Itās what Iāve learned to be efficient though ā¦ slap that stick around without clutching. You donāt want your left clutch leg to get tired do you?!
Heck, theyāve managed to put 18 speeds into a 6 gate transport shifter! ā¦

What blows me away about that vid is the old timer is DOUBLE CLUTCHING between shifts. Donāt even bother clutching except from the get go. Iāve even jammed it into first without the clutch LOL! As a trucker you have to learn the look and sound of your RPM and shift accordingly.
I think expert sports car drivers can shift without the clutch but thereās just too small margin of error to practice it. Thatās why they have paddle shifters.
As someone who had to take the occasional old International to the shop to get the clutch replaced from customer abuse, Iād like to say, yeah itās like a fun sport, as long as it isnāt your truck
Try shifting your manual car without the clutch! I only practice when Iām driving someone elseās car. My old friend Joey used to say that his older brother used to go clutchless when racing drag strips. Aināt nobody got time for clutching.
yeah, letās just say the wifeās corollaās gear box doesnāt nearly have the same space. Iām so use to those clutches that kick like a mule that I may inadvertently squeal the tires a lot in 1st
Keep it OUT of the family dude! I can only imagine the shavings in your pan.
I like this guyās 18 speed tutorial too ā¦
As per the reverse gear, you really donāt ever want to get caught in a high speed reverse scenario (safety will be on your ass) but Iāve gotten some good use out of it in a couple of batshit crazy scenarios.
I had a Foden 4000 with a 525hp Cummins and a twin splitter gearbox in it for a year or so on heavy haulage and I only used the clutch for pulling away and stopping
150 ton all up weight and that was the fastest changing gearbox Iāve ever used. It used to sing to you when you got it rightā¦ if you got it wrong you would roll to a stop and have to start again. Or the engine mounts would snap off and the rocker cover would come up through the cab floor. The threat of that happening made sure I never got it wrong. That truck was a beast
Thatās nuts man. Good on ya.
Got this.
Installed it last night and drove a bit of AC with it.
My wife (who has never tried a racing game) also gave it a spin.
The pedals are cool. Definitely better than the regular ones that came with the T-150. I mounted the conic rubber thingie under the brake pedal to give it more resistance.
As for the H shifter, it is quiteā¦loose. it is very easy to shift into 7th (or neutral, in case of cars that donāt have a 7th gear) instead of 5th, or any other adjacent gears. A lot easier than in any car I have driven in real life.
I might try out that screw to make shifting a bit harder but I doubt it helps. That thing is basically a joystick that remembers some positions to use as buttons, and only that plate restricts movement.
I still think it feels cool, I just have to get used to it.
ā¦and I am considering to built a custom plate myself, maybe a bit more narrowā¦
Congrats on the upgrades Aginor. Iām interested to hear what you think about the rubber block thingy. The G29 / G920 has a similar feature on the brake pedal to simulate a load cell which I thought worked pretty well. Well, better than without it.
I have no comparison to anything else but my old brake pea of course, but this feels a LOT more like braking in an actual car.
And that seems to be the opinion most people seem to have (I read/watched a few reviews). On other pedals you have to build something like that for yourself, these just come with it and it is quick and easy to mount with a single screw.
One thing my wife mentioned: she is sad that she cannot feel the clutch. Man, FFB pedals would be awesomeā¦
Yeah, thatās a complaint that I have driving GT cars on the start. You canāt hear your engine in order to modulate the clutch release, because the other cars are so loud. And you surely canāt feel it.
Imagine feeling the clutch, or the ABS on the brake pedal ākicking backā or the feeling when the vacuum servo fails (because you killed the engine) so the brake gets āharderā.
That would be perfect.
Ouch, I was kinda predicting this from my derail posts above.
If you canāt make or buy a 6 gate shift plate, Iād just use something to block that 7/8 gate. Also, keep in mind you can āmergeā the 5/7 and 6/8 gates in the software so that 7th is 5th and 8th is 6th.
Once I have decided for a car (or even a class of cars) Iāll probably adjust the gears in the software, which I tried and is pretty nice btw.
But right now I enjoy that I can drive 7 gear cars like the Ferrari F-40, and I am getting used to the shifter. I rarely hit wrong gears now.
I am still considering to build myself a custom plate that has a bit narrower gatesā¦
In case you missed it like I did, Thrustmaster announced new racing pedals back in February, available for pre-order. They have an adjustable load cell for the brake pedal and are reasonably priced, IMHO.
Sim Racing Garage has already done a reviewā¦
Wow. Just wow.
Decided to upgrade my old Fanatec Wheelbase V1 to something contemporary: Fanatec DD2. Waiting for the V-Rig to be produced, I go with the table clamp and low torque mode for nowā¦
Unfortunately without the rig, the Heusinkveld sprint pedals will have to sit idle for a while:
FYI, 20% most Fanatec gear is in their Black Friday sale now. Units are limited, but available. For instance, the Club Sport Wheel Base 2.5 has 141 units left as of this post.
