I don’t recall that, what did they do?
I can’t find a screenshot or TL;DR of what they said to Chuck.
The gist of it was, chuck asked for help, they said no dismissively and basically, no one asked you to do these guides. It was very rude

People,
I see a bunch of accusations from both parties going back and forth via copied content from other fora.
This sounds to me like word against word, written by people not present at the Mudspike forums.
I think we should be careful displaying information obtained from sources we can’t verify nor are actually the intended recipient of, as we may be helping to spread false information, for all we know.
Ah good @Troll. I was just going to ask about the legal ramifications of posting this stuff on MS. You read my mind
Fair enough…message received
I agree. I’m sure versions of the truth will evolve over time. Litigating this in public was a lose/lose for both companies involved. Regardless, with the Mudspike tendency towards building up over tearing down… I think we can let this be battled out in other places. That’s not to say we can’t talk about it…but I would be careful about sharing defamatory information that may or may not be accurate.
I hate to see all of it. I haven’t bought the F-15 yet. I was planning to…but if development is in danger…it will give me pause. I hope the parties can work out their differences.
To be honest, expanding on what chris said above. If development is in danger or there is a hint that we may have another VEAO situation regardless of cause. Razbam will have just nuked their own sales. Whatever the outcome of this and whatever the reasons, it won’t be good for their or ED’s pockets. Its a seriously odd play.
I won’t expect anyone to work for free, but this has long term implications that can’t easily be overlooked for the consumer
Is the Harrier “feature complete” at this point?
I believe the harrier is “feature Complete”
And to be fair the 15E in its current state is very very flyable.
Concern would be patch compatibility after so long.
Man, I’ve got to crawl out from under this rock more often; I’m completely unware of the history referred to concerning RB in the flight sim space. My Drama Filter has been honed to a fine edge over the decades too.
I just know RB is a company that sells [a few] modules I’m interested in.
I missed the exchange concerning @Chuck_Owl but I have a great understanding for the resources (time) required to create, and maintain, manuals; sub-contracting someone who demonstrates the desire and talent just makes good business sense.
It’s a huge chore; has nothing to do with completing the code; is so easy to put off; once you’ve created the code you just want to move on [to the next problem to solve]; etc, etc. But it relates directly to the customer - customer service.
This regurgitates a thought I’ve had over the last several years: companies in this particular niche appear to rely (at some level) on free work to deal with things like instruction (Youtube, + the free advertising) and AI (multi-player). Or that’s my impression.
after the hawk debacle… didnt ED introduce some clause in the 3rd party contracts, that if the dev went under, ED would get the code from any modules
I think they already have the source code for all the official 3rd party modules.
That sounds like good forward thinking.
Wags
All project resources are passed to us, to support the project, in case the developer dissolves.
found this on the ED Forum
so even with worst case and razbam goes … we should still have the modules, with the caveat of trying to untangle someone else’s code
That’s good to know. Yeah…I would probably pick it up then as long as I knew it would be at least compatible going forward.
I’ve only done basic stuff with it (F-15E - it’s very different than the Viper/Horet/Harrier UI-wise) but that, and watching YT’s from ‘Notso’ (a bonafide Mud Hen operator) it appears to be, oh, 95% there? I won’t say 100% cus I’ve not gone that deep myself.
I’ve not gone to the ED forums on it (I avoid that place unless it’s required). FWIW.
Performance-wise (FPS): nothing stood out. Now, the performance of the platform - wow!. At least compared to the Hornet.
It’s pretty good, obviously missing some features and a few annoying bugs, mostly concerning multicrew. Also laser codes for weapons are bugged atm last I heard, 1688 works though, haven’t tested anything else myself.
Then it’s feature incomplete of course, missing some pretty cool weopns like the AGM-130 for example and more modern systems like JHMCS and Data Link but I believe it’s way cooler to operate without GPS anyway and pre-GPS Strike eagles didn’t have those features anyway. AGM-130 would be really nice though.
