I may be getting my jets messed up. But doesnt 15E make a target designate upon release in CCIP?
I havenāt had any problems with pickling, but definitely have had the issue when after an attack, I slew to a new target, TDC press, and had the Azimuth Steering Line jump off of the HUD. To resolve I redesignate the target with TDC press, or failing that, undesignate with Boat Left and then redesignate with TDC press.
Yeah I have the ASL jumping issue as well. Seems to be worse in point track, and always if I designate before making a large turn. Iāve started waiting to designate after Iāve already turned nose hot on the target area.
Ok i figured out where i went wrong. I was pressing CDIP instead of AUTO. Thus the jet was trying to CCIP instead or CCRP. I just got 7 out of my 8 GBU 12s on target for the first time. I was only getting one or two before tonight. Wow! What a relief⦠i was about to give it up. Thank you all for your support.
So here is how im doing it. Set up my bombs⦠find a targetā¦Designate w the TDC. Turn on my Lazer⦠keep correct sight picture⦠chase fall line and pickle⦠keep checking the tdc sight picture⦠do little dance when CBU Impacts!
Good to hear ![]()
BTW, you can avoid fiddling around with the tdc if you command a track after you designate the target (auto acq depress ). The TGP as it is now does not automatically track when you designate your target. If you have a track, ATRK or PTRK on the bottom right of your TGP display will be boxed and you will immediately notice that because your TGP stops floating around and stays fixed on one spot.
If a track is boxed, can we skip TDC depress entirely?
no thatās your target designation, track is independend of that. Designate, then command track
Yay!!! Thank You.
And Clarification at last!Ā”
Can Anyone throw me a bone on the Alarm? I am so sick of hearing it. The AAA locks you once and it doesnāt stop. I have tried so many knobs and switches but still it goes on.
If i remember correct the volume knob isnt implemented yet or something to that effect. I find the best thing is CBU-97, they seem to stop the alarm. lol
For reference I believe these buttons should do it. Pg 41 in the manual

Wellllll⦠ill be Damned!! I never even saw 11. 12 looks promising too.
Thank you @weaponz248
I had my best night ever!!! 8 GBU 12s hit the target and i found a truck w the pod, marked its position and gunned him into oblivion! Yay!!! The beast is turning into a worthwhile investment. Had me great mission tonight. Thanks to you all for the tips and tricks⦠Oh and that Damn Alarm didnt go off now that i know how to silence it. LoL
No wonder I have to keep sweetening the designation. Just another case of Chip not seeing the forest because those damn trees got in the way.
For anyone looking to do a little multitasking, āSilk Worm Setupā is a single mission that came with the Mudhen. Its an easy airstart. You attack the target and deal with airborne threats. I found it really entertaining.
You are quite right, very fun flight! I will edit it on mine, make the weapons load make a little more sense and add in some weather.
You were reading my mind. Its more of a āone pass, haul a$$ā kind of thing. So yeah, maybe CBUs?
I finnaly succeded in taking out the SeaWeeds and killing an F1⦠but not bothā¦
On my 2nd try i dumped the mk 82s across most of the target. Shot the mirages in the face with amraams. Plinked the leftovers with the gbus. Not optimal. I rather dump all of the load jn one pass, then go properly fangs out on those mirages. Clean mudhen runs rings around 'em.
