I’ve never tried retarded bombs with CCRP. Always looking for new techniques, what’s your thoughts on why?
Retarded bombs are less accurate and more prone to wind drift, so I prefer to use them shotgun-like and drop multiples with spaced delays. With CCRP I can designate a start point and drop them at low level for a long run without having to get the CCIP cue just right. In a highly-defended airspace, running at low level with high speed to a preplanned point with CCRP lessens task saturation for me.
Given the nature of bomb damage model, needing a direct hit to destroy armored vehicles means I prefer to use slicks in a steep dive with minimum time between drop and hit; with retarded bombs, the target often has an opportunity to move out of the way or atmospheric effects drift it off, even at low level.
Interesting, I hadn’t considered using CCRP that way. Definitely going to have to play with that.
Thanks!
Ah mon dieu. C’est magnifique!
Incroyable! Ça me prend le souffle!
Beautiful…!
Voulez-vous de beure
Oh la la, tous la beurre!
damn that’s gorgeous
The greatest machine in DCS that isn’t a Harrier, Tomcat, or helicopter (in this man’s opinion) has become even better. Looking forward to my return to the blue side on Blue Flag (if they’ll have me).
Now you’re really making me feel guilty for never having fired it up despite saying I would… Maybe after the Harrier. Oh wait…after the F-16. Oh wait…after the Hornet. Oh wait…the remastered Ka-50 is coming. Sure would love to fly that Oilfield Campaign in the Mi-8.
You definitely should, if only for the outstanding campaign.
Yes you should. It is among the best content in all of DCS. Enemy within 3.0 comes to mind as equal in quality.
That said, I am really looking forward to the results of @Baltic_Dragon’s current projects. The F/A-18C black ravens campaign, the harrier stuff he’s supposed to be working on. I haven’t found time to properly fly the MiG-19 campaign, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that is truly excellent as well.
Yeah I’m an unabashed BD fanboi
If you’re not a BD fanboi, there’s something wrong with you.
True dat!
This bird is getting quite a bit of attention lately!
I told my French friend about how much fun I’ve been having in the Harrier and he said something along the lines of “I can’t believe you have fallen in love with such an ugly aircraft”.
Perhaps I should get back into the Mirage to make him happier
Mirage is not a jealous girl. Very unfrench of her but hey, isn’t that nice?
I often fly other fighters, tomcats, vipers, harriers, etc. I always come back once in a while to shoot a bogey or two just too stay current.
But as my experience relearning the viper is showing, certain jets you do not unlearn. Its like riding a bike.
I like the new implementation of the air combat switch. Its neat. Dem guns tho
Just finishing first mission of a free mini-campaign for the Persian Gulf, starting my Hormuz series. You will get three missions for the M-2000C that will kick off a series of campaigns taking place during an Iranian - sponsored coup in the Emirates. So far it shall consist of:
- M2K mini campaign (Coup d’Etat)
- A-10C Iron Flag DLC campaign in NTTR
- Harrier DLC campaign in NTTR
And then we will see what will come next!
Gday guys
somebody suggested i mention this to the M2000 crew, so here it is
the virpil panel design competition is in stage 2 (community voting)
1 of my submissions is short listed in the jet aircraft category (variant #1 )
https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/931-jet-aircraft-control-panel-community-competition-vote/&do=findComment&comment=6932
the jet aircraft category has had the most submissions, whilst I based the UFC style panel off the AV-8B UFC, it was mentioned that it looked very suitable for the M2000
(which I dont have/fly, so taking their word for it)
hope some of you like it and vote for it, otherwise if you see something you like better, please vote for it!
cheers
