Hi Toxin,
I had an Obutto R3, and am still using the seat. I couldn’t use the Obutto seat frame for the NLR V3 and had to make a frame to sit it on out of timber I had lying around. I also had to tie off the forward frame with rope to stop it slipping forward when pressing rudder pedals. Very simply, looked rubbish but it worked.
I also made a U shaped timber frame to sit between the R3 seat and the NLR V3, this was for two reasons.
I could attach the joystick and throttle holders.
The spacing for the seat attachment on NLR V3 are unique, I suspect the spacing of the holes on NLR seats are equally unique. The timber gave me a bit of wiggle room to attach the bolts through, and IIRC I had to file and lengthen the holes in the seat tracks (much thinner metal, and the seat being the less expensive component) to suit the NLR V3 frame.
I do have IL-2GB, and I did buy it direct from 777. It still calls on Steam to operate, and I have never had any issues using it with the V3. The NLR V3 software is really good to use, I’ve only scratched the surface of it’s capabilities. The way they have programmed response to aileron rolls in IL2 is really nice, better than DCS or FSX. I say this because I still remember the first time I did a roll in IL2 and thinking wow, they got this right.
I have added pics to help make sense of what I’ve typed. Hope they help, apologies if it’s just a waste of wifi/electrons/bandwidth we will never get back.
Thank you jnstricko, you’re a true prince. I am now on the path to pulling the trigger on the NLR V3 and likely will hit you up again when I realize that I need the PT Actuators too.
I can always count on you for comments. So for the peanut gallery… Them there fans push an insane amount of air compared to say the Noctua dark grey fans i had bought. They sucked. But to answer your question, yeah the proc runs at 4.9Ghz, 32G of DDR 4 on an 1151 Asus Mobo with X2 M.2 SSDs and a 2080Ti… yeah, its fast. 1200w cooler master per supply makes sure I don’t run out of juice. Its a desktop for grown-ups. Best part is I build it myself.
My wife just floated the idea to swap the “office” and the master bedroom. Means our bed would be a room with just that, the bed. And we could have all the room we’d need to sprawl screens and documents and her two work laptops… and some nice square metrage for me to build a helluva pit
Eh… I would argue that it creates a better separation between bedroom things and the rest of life; I refuse to have a TV in my bedroom because of the need to reduce distractions in there.
