Your wish is my command :bowing_man:

Apologies for the crap quality of the photo, I think I was a bit too excited to keep my hands steady.

Still some fine tuning to go with the placement of the controls, but first impressions are: I am very happy with it.

which brings me to my first ‘mod’. Casters to replace the feet.

Although I am impressed by how sturdy the Next Level ‘chair and frame’ is, it comes at a cost. It is a heavy sucker, close to 50kg. Which means it will be a pain to drag out of the way when I want to set up the wheel and pedals for some Assetto Corsa/Project Cars/Dirt Rally action.

I thought it has a wheels, no?

Unfortunately no. The feet are height adjustable, about 25mm /1 inch. But ‘fixed’

Wheels are essential to a sim rig IMHO. I’ve got them on my Sim Lab rig and it makes it a snap to relocate the whole mess, while I tinkering with the pedals, cable management, or modifying any component attached to it.

I like the fact that you have your Bravo permanently mounted on the right side, while mil throttle is on the left. Me thinks that I would like to do something similar, having seen yours.

I’m sold. Just picked up the Boeing Military Edition. I mean it really seems like a sexy solution for flight sims, racing sims and probably even just FPS’s in general!

@Elby You won’t regret it. I know you are a big guy, but I reckon you will be able to mount your rudder pedals forward far enough. I’m 6ft/185cm with long legs and I initially had the mount too far forward

There is still a lot in the box that is surplus to my needs at the moment - centre pole for a yoke, keyboard support, seat belts, etc.

It took me about four hours to assemble what I did and get hardware installed, but I took it slow and steady.

Assembly instructions are comprehensive, all tools provided (which is a nice touch) but I did a couple of steps out of order.

I fit the feet after I had assembled the ‘main’ bit of the frame before there was too much weight (they are one of the last steps in the manual) and I installed the seat base before I bolted the back/upright to it.

That’s good to know. Thanks bro. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been using my trusty old giant black desk with two under desk keyboard mounts as my sim platform for the last 30 years LOL! It’s going to be nice to reconfigure and streamline the system and get my whole space cleared out and tidied up.

I took the first three weeks of January off so this is going to be one of my side projects … I’m just going to take my time and make sure it’s done right.

Still playing with the placement TBH. I have since swapped the position of the Bravo and mouse. The Bravo was a little too far back and that is the forward most position of the mount. It is in a much better place attached to the desk, but now the mouse position ‘feels’ odd…

I am toying with the idea of swapping it over to the left (where the CD/drink coaster) is in the photo above, because I just took the DCS Mossie for a quick fly and having the throttle on the right, that feels a bit odd as well.

Not as ‘realistic’ for commercial/GA I guess, but I could always pretend that I was the 1st Officer / co-pilot… If only X-Plane gave you the option of left or right seat.

Decisions, decisions… and at the end of the day, a first world problem. I am going to leave it where it is for now (on the right), otherwise I will be spending more time ‘tinkering’ than playing. Maybe once I rebuild the muscle memory for the mouse I won’t notice it?

That one sure looks nice…
I’m wondering if I made a bad choice with the MonsterTech seat that I got…?
Well, I guess choice isn’t fair, since I didn’t know of the Boeing seat.

Sure does! I have a number of options as to how to place my 55” screen in front of it but I was at a family get together a few weeks ago and was REALLY impressed with their 4K projector in their theater room! The screen/wall was massive, maybe 12 feet wide and still a beautiful, perfectly clear picture. I only have a 9’ 6" wide wall in my sim nook so I might be mounting a projector to the ceiling to give me a 125” 16:9 screen.

It is quite firm and comfortable, but not as comfortable as my ‘gaming’ office chair.

Which is probably a good thing. If it was too comfortable I would probably have to buy some adult diapers… I never realised how much of a difference it would make for flight sim fun :astonished:
