Show us your sim pit!

btw: is the bed above your pit for those pesky quick reaction alert missions?

It’s a “in case of mother-in-law invasion” bed

I think it’s great! Being nice and enclosed like that does boost the immersion (sp?). I built my pit with that in mind. Though I don’t have them on anymore, I had two side panels that blocked my view of the outside world.

I suppose VR will put that all to rest someday, but I’m not there yet.

Nice build AndyE !!
Question?
Is that a Corsair 750D ?
Does it have lots or just ample room for wiring behind MB ?

It is - I convinced him to buy it! :joy:
Airflow edition with the mesh front grill and the filter pack for the regular on so it keeps clean.

Wiring behind mobo is easy - lots of space & even a few SSD mounts so you don’t need the HDD bays necessarily and can keep more clean airflow.

Thank you Wes!
I have a 760 now but they have become crazy pricey.
I need to upgrade as I would love to try VR. (BUT) I’m reading all the advice available (especially from Mudspikers) [very grateful]

My wife has commandeered our only desk with a couple of screens from work and her docking station.

I just hacked together a little desk so I can have my work laptop connected to my screen to work from home too without having to disassemble her setup.

Now, if that setup did happen to have quite good dimensions to fit some pedals underneath and perhaps lowered mounts for a HOTAS, that would be purely a coincidence. :innocent:

It’s a business expense

There is literally nothing left to improve when it comes to the stick.

That’s-what-she-said joke in 3-2-1.

I’m feeling left out so here is my… um… sim pit?

I spy a game controller - that’ll work!
(I started DCS A-10C with an Xbox360 controller)

can always play I Spy - there are actually 5 controllers visible in that picture. (I missed one there are 6)

Not bad, considering I can’t leave the house so had to make do with stuff I had at home

That’s sweet, I’ve wanted something like that since I started sims. How difficult was it to adjust for the throw? Any concerns with over-torque’ing the base?

I reckon the base is sturdier than the screw joints in the stick. Of course the base is still a 30 by 60cm board, so excessive deflections will most likely just lift that.

I still have the default cams and springs in, which for the twice extended stick is very light indeed.

It’s a ‘scrap-pit’ but in VR, “there’s a place for everything, and everything is in it’s place”.

And I can move the stick to the slide-out tray for the Viper too!

Velcro is your friend

My simple ply vr cockpit.

Welcome to Mudsike @Andrew-UK!

That is an interesting way to adapt to VR and PointCTRL! I am currently on the wait list for a set of the controllers and my sim pit is kinda cluttered with visual tools.

Cheers,
