My wife and I got ours last week. It’s an incredibly efficient, almost factory-like process. We were both in and out in 40 minutes, which would have included the mandatory 15 minute observation but we both skipped that. Doing some quick and dirty math I figure an arm was getting stuck every 15 seconds.

My wife (ex nurse) helps out at one of our two local mass vaccination centres. They try and achieve 1,500 vaccinations a day at each centre. Yesterday was 1,488 and the day before 1,535 at my wife’s centre. So much depends on people turning up and being on time. No vaccine is wasted with the staff doing unpaid overtime until it is all used. This has to be done when people fail to attend. They literally phone round to get people to come in, eg emergency services and armed forces.

I am quite disappointed that it doesn’t work well yet here in Germany. The efficiency is really lacking.

Well, I’m glad everyone is making it through in one fashion or another. Hopefully we can put this behind us eventually.
For my own part, I’ve had it twice. So don’t feel too safe if you’ve had it already!

The only thing more powerful than German efficiency is German bureaucracy. When it gets in the way there is no stopping it.

A bit of EU, a bit of stupid bureaucracy, a bit of industry lobbyism.
A bad mixture, but at least they are ramping up the vaccinations slowly and our healthcare system keeps the death rates somewhat low.

From what I understood, Germany has issues procuring enough juice.
I’m pretty sure the infrastructure would allow for a higher rate if only more vaccine was available.
We’ve an invitation system which prioritizes the elderly and health care workers. So tbh I don’t expect to get an invitation until fall / winter…
The days of Germany being fast and efficient are long gone. Covid is kicking our behind, and I will be watching closely when the aftermath phase begins. Our administration has grown fat and slow. It feels like they just discovered computers.
And our politicians clearly chase money more than they like to admit. It’s official now that they lack focus on what’s important.

I hate to be the typical German bashing Germany, but yeah, I guess you are mostly right. 
The fact that Andy B.Scheuert is still in office is mindblowing to me. Doesn’t even have the decency to step down and Merkel deosn’t do anything about it. Just thinking about it makes me mad.

Gawd…methylprednisolone (a steroid) makes me want to come out of my skin. My heart races and I feel jittery. Only managed three hours of sleep last night. (I’m off duty for four days…and it comes in a blister pack of decreasing dosages…so it should get better). From what I understood from the doctor…it decreases inflammation (in my case the lung) and allows the antibiotics to do its thing. It is a miserable combination though (I haven’t taken any prescription drugs for 25+ years)… Oddly enough, the decreasing lung inflammation is leaving me just slightly breathless…a weird feeling of just barely not having the fullness of a breath. My pulse-oximeter dohickey says %SpO2 of 94-95…but I have no baseline because I never used it prior to this. So who knows.
