2026
So, two weeks then?
Considering they have spent the equivalent of half a squadron of F-35s, no matter what they release it stands as an example of colossally bad management.
Just like Defence contracts then?
That’s one helluva perspective!
Some companies sell products, other companies sell dreams.
The sooner you realize, the less money you‘ll spend. Because dreams are free.
I haven’t backed Star Citizen, but I did back Interstellar Marines way back when. They had an interesting idea for a hokey sci-fi shooter a bit slower than Crysis and based offworld, with meme enemies like landsharks that could have been cool if done sparingly.
Eventually they released a tech demo, and for the time the movement and weapons were really good. Just there wasn’t much in the way of gameplay - TDM and a co-op mode against bots that just ran at you really fast (kinda like a zombie mode now I think of it).
I’m sad they never got to make the game. But if they got funding to make it now I don’t think it would stand out from the crowd - just about every shooter does the movement and weapons as well or better than their plan and tech demo now, and as AAA shooters keep proving, stories are hard and why bother when you can just do arena shooters or conquest modes with a seasonal zombie co-op mode … since that’s where people spend most of their time.
I’m sad it never got made. But I’m glad they stopped working on it. Knowing when to call time is a good thing
This weeks kerfuffle.
I’m a space game nut. Backed this on Kickstarter within minutes of it going live. I’ve been in the disappointed/angry phase of my relationship with this game for about five years now. All I wanted was a successor to Freelancer, which is what I thought we were getting. Now I’m just watching and wondering when, not if, it’ll all implode.
I’m going to put it out there, ‘that anyone here who convinces another Mudspike member to buy Star Citizen deserves an instant Bad Influencer tag?’
LOL
I may consider buying it once the official 1.0 release is out.
Hahahahaha oh my sweet Summer child.
Just checked my emails - I registered in 2013 paying for a base model ship, and haven’t played a minute in all that time!
Sounds like me and Cliffs of Dover. I bought two special edition copies from GoGamer but before they shipped GoGamer cancelled all of the orders. Seems like they shut down shortly after that happened.
I bought it again when @Combat_Pilot_Jason started selling it at the Great Battles store to support him. Never installed it since I do not like Steam.
