Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Was it the frog? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah it was.

Meanwhile I killed some bosses. The AT-STs are fun!
The game can be quite hard sometimes, but still good fun.

I’ve been extremely thorough, going back over pretty much everything. over 7 hours and I haven’t quite gotten around to getting to more than one AT-ST yet and I’m thinking of going back instead of forward more…

I did get that darn frog though before I left that planet, was disappointed with the reward. none and not much xp

Wait… Dark souls like means you die over and over again?

more of breaking down defenses having your own defense and not just spamming attacks

Uhmm… Not better. Care to explain a little more?
Edit: I’m not being snarky-i really didn’t get it… :frowning:

Dark Souls wasn’t just about dying a lot  More timing, blocks, parrys, counters, attacking at the right times.

Maybe Dark Souls isn’t right, more of those LotR games everyone seemed to like, Shadow of something or others. I dunno, bottom line, you just can’t swing your light saber non-stop and come out on top every time.

TLDR; it’s not a button masher

Ah! Now that’s something I understand!
I completed Shadow Of Mordor 100%!
Great news!

I heartily approve. I did enjoy the force unleashed games, but they felt far too easy even on the hardest difficulty.

um, well that may not be right, it’s somewhere between that Batman Arkham style (which i put the LotR games in) and Dark Soul combat. I dunno, hard to describe exactly, feels like it’s own thing instead of a clone of some other games combat.

It’s definitely not. Get 2 or more melee enemies and it can be bad news, you really have to think about postioning as they attack en masse rather than wait their turn!

I admit I struggle a bit at times. I probably should play on normal difficulty.
The thing is that these days I often find games too easy so I dial up the difficulty a bit. And now pride prevents me from switching down. Instead I find myself skipping bosses or other hard encounters if there isn’t a save point near.

I wish there was some kind of fast travel though. The shortcuts are OK but sometimes there just aren’t any good ones.

Edit: that being said: I tend to forget some of my abilities. For example the time freeze. I have to use those more often.
The other thing is: I often dodge instead of blocking, which makes the fights a bit more chaotic than they would have to be.

Still, cool. I completed the Arkham trilogy at 100% as well.
Goshdarned OCD.

One of the great things in this game is that it doesn’t take you by the hand.
It doesn’t give a marker over an enemy’s head to tell you when to block.
It presents you with a boss and there is no “press X now to do Y” and it doesn’t straight up tell you “use Z to defeat him”. It doesn’t let you fight half of a boss fight and then let’s the boss do some unblockable, scripted action and uses quick time events to defeat him. (although I admit I didn’t mind them much in the latest three Tomb Raider games, IIRC they were well done there).
Once you have defeated and scanned an enemy you get a tactical page, but even that one isn’t too in your face with explanations.
It makes fights more rewarding because you can use your style to win an encounter.

It is hard but I’m loving it and I can’t normally stand games like Dark Souls where you die a lot but I don’t mind in this. A game that makes you feel like a Jedi is all good although sometimes I feel like…

Lol

I love those games so much. I played through all of them again last year and they are still great.

I’ve mentioned a few times that I’m playing through old games lately to clear my backlog of stuff I’ve bought and not played to save some money and not waste it in frivolous purchases until I’ve cleared out a few

Dark forces 1 and 2 were fantastic to play through with my 3 year old. Cartoony enough not to scare him and playable enough that I couldn’t put them down. Amazing for the age of them

Fun fact: I never finished Dark Forces 1.
It was banned in Germany so I discovered it years after I played through JK1+MotS+JK2 and the graphics and gameplay are just below the acceptable level for me.
I played three or four levels but only watched the other ones as YT videos.

Why on earth was DF1 banned in Germany?!
