Yup! What Tempus said!
I can’t believe how heart pumping and exciting this is.
Even the occasional death is not off putting but instead fuel the fire or revenge!
Thank you guys for the supportive comments and for reading our silly progress. ^-^
PLAN :
The insertion point is at the base of the Green arrow.
We drive from the HQ to the insertion point and get on foot from there.
We will be moving north decisively along the coast while taking down any opposition with extreme prejudice.
North of the tip of the red arrow we should see another Checkpoint.
When we get in visual range we will check our supplies/status and decide whether we press on and take on that too, or head back to the HQ and re-assess our situation safely.
Extraction point is the same as Insertion point.
EXECUTION + OPFOR :
Stupid simple, we advance in a line abreast separated about 100 meters for mutual support.
There should just be less than 10 lightly armed/protected individuals of the local police force.
They tend to move in pairs, sometimes single ones are placed in buildings to provide cover.
They carry SMGs with high rate of fire and decent accuracy, serious threat, engage on sight.
One dog is also probably present, threat unclear, but still engage on sight.
LOADOUT :
As the enemy is completely clad in dark blue overalls and caps they are easy to visually identify from the locals.
As such I’d say we do not use their own armored Tactical vest I got us yesterday but instead going for light coloured/possibly white overalls (Mechanic Overall in the arsenal) with the green/camo tactical vest of the soldiers we killed at the Chechkpoint. They allow us to carry more stuff, have better protection and we should avoid Blue on Blue. Or should I say “P on P” ? (Professional on Professional)
Since we are exposing ourselves early we might also want to use the Modular helmets for extra protection.
The ADR-97 (ARMA 3 version of the FN P90) has a magazine of 50 bullets that, while small caliber, allows us to put a 10 bullets burst quickly and accurately into our targets and ten of those rips through tactical vests like nobody’s business.
We have plenty of ammo, they are light to carry and we can rearm from the fallen enemies.
No need to be stingy about them, as even with just four magazines we would have 200 bullets each plus whatever we collect from the dead. In my experience I took down five enemies with just two magazines, with bullets to spare.
Free choice of a side arm.
To reduce the risks of collateral deaths and/or damage, and given the probably low enemy count, we should carry minimum explosive payload.
Just a grenade each and a couple smoke ones.
Two yellow medikit each.
A Loot Box for collecting our rewards and Technical kit in the car to fix it in case some stray bullets hit some sensitive parts…
(it’s a Professional operation after all, anything could happen ).
DETAILS :
The direction of advance is northward so we can call out enemies and cover fire sectors with the same “clock” method of fighter pilots. 12 o’clock being due north, 6 o’clock being due south and so on.
We will define the Rules Of Engagement once we reach the Insertion point (Green Arrow) but we can start by holding fire, unless fired upon, until we can spot -ideally- half of the suspected OPFOR with the binoculars, which marks them on the map as well.
Let’s call out our reloads and give a voice warning before throwing grenades.
It would be great to have a Sniper spotter in full camo on the forest hill due East of Agios K.
All in all I feel we can really build up some good experience on this, no matter how it goes.
Final note: none of these points are set in stone and as such, feel free to suggest or debate them.
I might be a Professional but I do not do this for a living. Luckily.
I will recommend to try a supply mission, where you park a palette of supply and defend it against police and at times a QRF. They civs don’t bite the hand that feeds …
Yes, very good point. We managed to complete a few of those.
Sadly most of the time we are so engrossed in the moment that we forget to take screenshots and write some of the AARs
Added some extra details and outlined better the plan.
EDIT: sorry if it seems I’m taking this too seriously, I am not, really. I know it’s a game and I’m not a real commando. But since it’s a realistic game I like to put as much brain behind it as possible.
Plus I value the virtual life of my fellow Mudspikers.
then I went to the town to the south, and came across a 2 man police patrol, I got in a position behind them and eliminated them, taking all the gear I could carry, I then liberated a car and saw another 2 man patrol this time with a dog … they were walking in a line on the road, so I floored the SUV and ran them down, killing one and wounding the other. I jumped out of the car and finished off the wounded. loaded all the gear in the car and headed home
I’m on discord, username: war.pig (anyone here feel free to add me), also will monitor this thread, so if you want you can just post here. I’ve got a couple of work calls throughout the day, but am otherwise ‘off’.
I’m GMT-5 here, but am Zulu time fluent if you wanna stick with that to make the maths easier.
