DAAAAAAA Cubs
Yahhhh… about that whole rooting for the Cubs thing…
I was trailing the guys at 5nm. Keeping my eye on them in TWS (Don’t worry, the master arm was DOWN!)
The guys divided the targets. I took shots at whatever wasn’t smart enough to beam out of my high PRF TWS lock.

@AeroMechanical and myself prosecute the last target.
Last group of bandits, same tactics.
One goes down. I had a good bead on the last guy but I lose him in the weeds. Since he’s not showing up where I expect him to be I anounce I’m Tumbleweed and decide to climb out to safety since last time I saw him the bandit was low and slow.
Aero confuses me climbing to safety and dropping flares to keep my 6 clean for a juicy fencer, but we identify each other with a quick raygun call. @near_blind is still on this gomer.
that takes care of that.
Quote of the night:
was a great night, looking forward to the fly-in
Last Tuesday’s AAR looked great with the F-15s. I have a four-flight Eagle mission called NAVEX that I would love to fly in tomorrow, to pick up tips and have fun. It is fairly short - 30-45 minutes depending what targets get activated. I’ll plan on Teamspeak around 8 to 9 Eastern US, and the mission will be on the Hollo Pointe server. Also looking forward to the Fly-In!
These controls are on the left to operate with my throttle hand -
Stuff on this side is for the stick hand, start up and less-used controls. I haven’t found the flashlight and did not sign for it -
Had a nice flight last night with boomerang10 - we went after a pair of MiG-31s but they saw us coming and bugged out. Our F-15Cs had the fuel and we were able to take care of the situation. I even landed without tipping over. Thanks for the flight time @boomerang10, some day I’ll learn what all those radio calls mean. @EinsteinEP had a Brevity Code list …
We flew the NAVEX mission. I’m moving those MiG-31s over to the coast so they will be a better threat for the mission scenario.
In what is probably the worst necro this forum has seen this year, I’m finding myself itching for a little bit of MP flying lately.
Alas, most of you are the other side of the Atlantic, which makes it pretty impossible for me to attend your sessions without switching to a bat-like sleeping cycle.
Are there any other people around here in or close enough to CET that are up for some MP flying now and then?
sure
Where and when do you meet up?
We can start with Tuesday Nights, what do you say ? Or maybe Sunday nights ?
Mudspike Discord ?
After 20:30 CET ?
As a rule, you can just ping the Mudspike Discord and someone in your timezone will probably be there.
I’d be up for that
Sometimes I’m home by that time. I was wondering how to start playing MP and would love to get in the way of some nice flying with my crappy skills.
I mean after 20:30 CEST ( UTC + 2 )
For me some fixed day would work much better so I can plan in advance.
And Tuesday was always my favorite MP night.
I will try to show up today and on Tuesday. Lets see …
Yup, Discord is perfect for that though, drop a note and you can arrange something with someone pretty easily.
I work 2pm till 10pm Monday to Friday so if you could do a weekend ight I’d definitely be up for getting shot down with you?
Separate local machine that I leave up and running for other reasons, but DCS & SRS are added to that list.
It’s pretty soft hardware wise:
I3-4160
16GB DDR3
GTX 670 (I only leave that in to save every ounce of CPU power haha.)
SSD for Windows*
SSD for DCS*
*They are cheap SSDs, no need to break the bank.
A slightly better processor would be preferable, in terms of single core performance. Extra cores/threads wouldn’t hurt.
Unfortunately hosting locally isn’t an option because the upload on my DSL is atrocious.
