Also, I still don’t have hand controllers… Turns out Valve aren’t doing business in Norway. I guess I could order them through Sweden…?
Hmm, no hand controllers probably means no SteamVR environments, so so much for my ROV test idea. You’ll just have to fly a lot of sims instead!
Hand controllers? Good for spilling my beer.
Ok. I can do that.
There it is! I remember reading a post about something like that…
Thanks.
Ugh. I tried that FOV thing - had to find my hand controllers for it. This was months ago but, ick. That software, at the time, wasn’t ready for primetime.
We want feelings.
If we must have science stuff however I suggest:
The environment one is pretty much ‘you’re on your own to figure it out’ as the author went on to do a paid version at http://testhmd.com. They are essentially the same, just the latter has instructions and is stand-alone, plus is maintained.
I can feel it ( because we already know its the best consumer helmet out there money can buy and you will have to lie to us if you are not satisfied with it
)
Can’t wear glasses with that rig I believe. Pity.
I read from their fitting instructions that you might be ok with eye-glasses, but things like prescription inserts (that fit over the lenses like WIDMO VR etc) are a no go due to the eye tracking.

LASIK surgeons are going to be inundated this year.
Ever since I’ve had VR goggles I’ve considered my contact lenses as a great piece of gaming kit LOL! I start heading down to my computer with my glasses on and think, “Dang, better put on my contacts!”. LASIK still isn’t very attractive to me, especially when I still like to wear my glasses sometimes and I don’t want to get my eyes sliced open. I’ve been wearing contacts for about 40 years for really bad nearsightedness and I’m still enjoying my 20/15 vision! I even have bifocal contacts now.
I think that depends on the size of the glasses. I’ll try with mine.
I have astigmatism and until recently there weren’t any contacts available that corrected that and were bifocal. I know there is now though… Maybe I should schedule an appointment with the optician?
@fearlessfrog, any thoughts on using the FSR mod with the Aero? Should work just as for the G2, right?
You . Are . Killing . Me .
VR was the reason I got contact lenses…very Happy I made the switch.
I’m so excited…! And hungry!
I think he will try to get Gunship 2000 working with vorpX…that should eat up the rest of the week…
It should do, yes. I’d try it off first though.
