Again, there is no specific rule against politics.

It says something about no world or current events, yes. It also says something about not having a great forum presence and today the site is just a forum, so things change. 
Instead of rules against this or that, can we just try to be civil and focus on what brings us all together, rather than focusing on what divides us?
And, as I wrote above, if you see something that you feel is inappropriate, flag it.
