Visual Jokes or Intensity

No problem!

That’s the thing… It’s sometimes hard to know what will trigger emotions. It often comes down to preferences and interpretation.
I see a pic of Taylor Swift and I know she’s a singer. I can vaguely remember a few of her songs and that I’ve seen her in the media recently where she endorsed a particular political party.
It doesn’t bother me. It may bother somebody else though, depending on what that picture mean to them.

It doesn’t.
If posting about politics to actively stir emotions or to cause division, then it’s forbidden.
But this is also a forum where we sometimes play wargames and discuss wars and battles, which is hard to do without delving a bit into the politics that led up to them.

Nor are cat vids forbidden, in general…

Hm? Let me look into that.

Edit. I locked your trust level now so you should have access again.
If it happens again, just contact an admin.

No harm, no foul.
I took the liberty of removing it, since the joke wasn’t received in the manner it was given.

Just a general repetition of how this works.

Don’t post to pick a fight and if someone do so anyway, don’t engage in the fight.
Flag the post and moderators will look into it.

We all have different tresholds and humor and what’s funny for some is offensive to others, but members of this forum generally don’t wish to offend a fellow Mudspiker, so keep that in mind.

Oh… And it’s friday!

I hope these “no talk about politics” rules be worldwide, because sometimes looks that is fine to talk about politics or take parts in other areas if the conversation are polite, but about usa politics it became an automatic tabu.
IMHO is better to not talk about politics (independantly of world areas)!!! Life is not only politics, we have many other things to talk and share that not create a cold war between members. Exist many other foruns to have fun with politics and imho is not the objective of Mudspike to enter into that group.

Sorry to arrive with these, but i remember older politics conversations where i suggest to stop because the rules and it was closed to fall in a ugly way, but i was said by many including mods, its all fine and healthy if it still polite (yeah, was not Dem vs. Rep.). So, double standards in a rule is a bit weirdo.

She’s in her mid 30’s and still dates, and acts, like a teenager. If she has been unable to stay in a relationship longer than her time in high school, I think it’s her, not all of them.
Don’t know what is political about that?

If this is somehow about some statement she made about politics, I wouldn’t know. I never listen to what other people say. Besides, if a singer isn’t “qualified” to comment, then neither is a “plumber” or a “union factory worker” or a “CEO” or a “podcaster” or, frankly anyone. No one but the politicians themselves actually know what the jobs entail, and since they are all biased in favor of themselves, why would you listen to them? “Trust the word of the sales team,” said no one ever.

If the very idea is everyone is supposed to be equal and have an equal say, then disregarding what one person says over another is the most antidemocratic stance there is. If they are all citizens, then they all have equal weight. She has just as much right to tell people how to vote as a pastor, or your parents, or your children, or your boss, or someone privileged enough to have a TV show, or another politician.

That’s why I disregard all 100% of them. Due to extreme devaluation, opinions are no longer of any worth. I can’t find a calculator that can express 1/350,000,000 without using scientific notation. There are 8 zeros after the decimal before you get to the 285.

Again, there is no specific rule against politics.
Have a look at the welcome post, which also has a link to the FAQ.

It says something about no world or current events, yes. It also says something about not having a great forum presence and today the site is just a forum, so things change.

Instead of rules against this or that, can we just try to be civil and focus on what brings us all together, rather than focusing on what divides us?

And, as I wrote above, if you see something that you feel is inappropriate, flag it.

Now, let’s move along, shall we?

Thread reopened.
I closed it as I felt I, and probably a few of the thread participants, could need some distance.
And if it looks like @stavka caused the closing of the thread, because his post appear as the last, let me assure everybody that he didn’t cause it.
There were posts that no longer appear in the thread.

So, yet another recap, before we continue…

Try not to post anything that you know people will find offensive.
If you see a post that you feel is offensive, FLAG IT!

Do Not Engage!

Thank you and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

It actually wasn’t real drama. Because it was stopped before it started.

I am glad the thread is back. So here is a contribution.

I know we don’t normally post anything about Ukraine … but I thought this was harmless…

And I have so many questions …the main one is how?

As a (former) driver.

I am hearing the CC screaming “reverse, reverse”. So I have put it in reverse and floored it.
