VTOL VR

and yes I picked it up … may have to move slightly where I normaly play … have smashed my hand into my throttle, the wall and the desk

I couldnt play for that reason. My pit and HOTAS prevented me from using the controls

Careful being too enthusiastic grabbing the ejection handle…

Thwack…

ouch … er …yes that could be an interesting sight for someone watching you play

If you grab the handle and twist the radio dial at the same time you will never convince anyone you are playing a flight sim

What I’ve found best for me was to just use my joystick mounted on the right, with free clear space to the left and front.

That way I can hold the motion controller in my left hand and have access to the entirety of the cockpit (except on F/A 26 where some of the radio controls & brakes on the right can get occluded by the joystick mounting at times).

Felt like it gave the best of both worlds, motion controllers to interact with the panels and occasionally set the throttle. Right hand on the stick almost the entire flight similar to a regular HOTAS setup.

Did have to make some modifications to the VTOL VR Physical Input project in order to just bind a joystick without a throttle. Will be cleaning up the changes and making a pull request at some point.

First of all, welcome @boarnoah!

Secondarily, I stumbled upon this!

I’m not sure I understand the problem here. Play VTOLVR four feet away from the desk. Then drag the pedals back from the wall to match the chair. Both hands can now rest comfortably on your thighs or armrests.

That’s what I did so far, but my only problem was my desk sort of traps the cabling of my rudder pedals and I have to resort to the controllers thumbstick

Ahh gotcha. My MFGs have a pretty generous cable.

I haven’t tried to helicopter yet (maybe this weekend!), but I’ve been perfectly content with the twist the controller for rudder so far.

just went through the tutorials and it seems damn good fun a very nice fit somewhere between the hardcore DCS sim and the ACE combat type games and with VR thrown in with great frame rate…
I can see this being a total blast at the next mudspike MP night

I am looking for other adults to fly with in VTOL. Not having luck finding the Mudspike Discord, but please add me, and let’s fly. Discord: Sinner6#7922

Sent invite, it’s pretty quite on there though.

A new DLC 2-seat carrier capable jet trainer.

Looks like fun!

Yep. I’ve been seeing a lot of videos of this new add-on and it looks very well done plus giving the opportunity for players to play as pilot and RiO.

What a nifty little jet! Too much smoke though. Maybe he’s going for an early 90s Russian AMERICAN vibe.

I’ll just leave this here…
