I’ve moved so many times that, I guess, my sense of ‘home’ is different. Physically/logistically it’s a real pain for sure and worse as you accumulate ‘stuff’.
Different subject I know but, I’ve always wished people (at least some people) would move more often, to different cultures preferably (inter and intra-nationally), for some amount of time. I may be biased but some of the most well-rounded people I’ve known have many different destinations in their domicile logbook.

Yeah it is harder to stay narrow minded and keep up prejudices about places and people if you have actually visited them. Especially if you stayed long enough to get to know them.

My poor girlfriend. In spite of being with me for 4 years, we have never left the country together. COVID had all to do with that. So to make it up I booked us a kick a$$ room for Valentines Day at a seaside resort. Hope its not cold or rainy that day. Its the Desert but in February, anything can happen.
So, you have been warned… V Day is coming up. Don’t come up short. Lucky for me, I could come home with a paper flower and she would think it was the best V Day ever… So the effort will be well received. It is never about how much you spend. Its most definitely the thought that counts.

I had a rule after my ex-gf almost fell off. I said I would never ride with a passenger on a sport-bike again. However, I have given in and I am looking for a rear seat and rear foot-pegs so that my sweetie can get a ride. We might never have a bike like this again and I want her to see what its like.
I have grown more mature and I will be able to curb my wrist.
But to answer your question @smokinhole , Where is her wardrobe going to go? There is no storage on an RSV4. Not even enough to store a pack of gum! When I tell her we are going for two nights she will try to bring every pair of shoes and dress she owns LOL. She will get a ride to go to breakfast on a weekend morning.

Yeah, I guess a pair of saddle-bags and a magnetic tank bag would spoil the look.
You buy a BMW bike for that kind of utility/ aesthetic. 
When I was young I had a ZX-9 which everyone at the time scoffed away as an “old man’s crotch rocket.” And really it was a “Ninja” in name only. A fact I made even worse with the arrangement I suggested above. It was both painful and hideous but I put many thousands on that bike mainly to spite the naysayers. My girlfriend of five years at the time (fiancée really) said under no circumstances was I to ever ride a motorcycle (or learn to fly a hang-glider, or skip church, or…) So I broke up with her immediately. Best move I ever made.

Goldwing gentleman. All the pleasures and space of a mid sized sedan with the pricing of an RV. I got flagged down for directions one night by a couple on a Goldwing in town for the massive motorcycle rally we have every year. I had to wait for him to turn off the AC on his bike to speak to me. Needless to say that was a new one.
Ya, you can’t beat the Goldwing generally. Closest is the BMW K1600 series which is a good competitor since Honda curbed the total luggage capacity of the Goldwing on the latest iteration.
For the money, I’d still rather have a BMW R1250GSA and go for a real adventure, however!
I’m a Hayabusa man myself. I loved the BiG ZX until I sat on one. It make me feel small and the reach to the bars for especially uncomfortable. I am very average small guy. 5’8" (barely) and short reach. It felt to my like the ZX was built for the 6’ and over crowd. Sure, some mods might make it fit, but i am also a Suzi lover, so Busa it is!
That said, I would not miss a chance to ride the bike in the pic above. Them bags look awesome too. NICE!

Hey y’all.
Quick update: yesterday, after 12 grueling hours (almost to the minute!) in the car we arrived at 19:20 in Germany safe and sound, albeit with aching backs.
We’re in a “vacation house” until our house will be finished, should be around the second or third week of February.
Despite a bit of really heavy downpour at sunset, all went so amazingly well.
We have a bit of R&R today, but soon I’ll post more info.

Yeah! I was so surprised!
Even during the long trip, she never cried or complained or even soiled her bed.
She’s been super good, our Lana. 
And I must say our other pups were super good.
Could have been much worse.
