Oh yes, Pirates 5 was a few years after 3rd Hobbit film, I’d forgotten about that one as his role wasn’t particularly large.
I watched the first two episodes of The Diplomat on Netflix last night and came away impressed.
It’s basically a love story, wrapped in political intrigue and espionage. The series is exceptionally well cast and moves at a reasonably fast pace. Having been married 24 years, I can identify with much of the romantic competitive nature of the protagonist’s relationship, in which both parties draw heavily on their diplomatic experience to gain an edge.
That lady really rocked it in that show The Americans where she played a soviet sleeper agent in the late cold war.
It must of been a quarter century since i watched that intro. Thanks @komemiute you made my day.
Hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of dune 2/2000 and C&C 1.
I know right?! Me too! Also I totally have C&C still- in case you ever want to win easy against me.
I love it, but in Multiplayer I’m total rubbish!
I absolutely love the C&C remaster. Have you got that one?
If not i have the anniversary editions etc
LOL, yeah mate, I have both too!
They gave a lot of that away, didn’t they - years ago, I think it was either an anniversary or maybe they were calling time on it or something and they gave the ISOs away for the C&C stuff. I burned DVDs and put them on the shelf - they are still there. Lost count of the times I saw that Red Alert trailer on cover CDs.
I started those a few times, but never had the interest to continue through - I lost interest after a few rounds. the only RTS I ever got into in any kind of enthusiastic way was Total Annihilation (which I also have beside me on a shelf).
Oh look - wandered off topic again!
The last couple weeks I’ve been playing BAR with friends almost every Thursday evening.
Beyond all Reason
It’s close to TA and has support for 16 players and built in MP Lobby for either public or private games. Can’t beat the price! Can recommend.
I loved that game and its spiritual successor supreme commander
Eeeh I have a problem with the RE remakes- they are too bloody good and my anxiety just goes through the roof and I simply can’t function anymore.
EDIT: Wait, you mean Red Alert 2?! AHHAHA SORRY! No, I didn’t I will though!
I thought you meant Resident Evil 2
Ah bugger! Yes. Meant RA2
Sorry, off topic in the movie thread. Just noticed.
I watched 3 episodes yesterday and really enjoyed it.
Just googled it there are 8 shows and a season 2.
We just tried several different films for our Friday Movie Night, but ended up ditching them all and watching a Friends instead!
Mrs gets very easily bored with films.
Think I will be giving this one a look see on May 25th.
Netflix - FUBAR
How can it go wrong with Ahnold AND Phoenix??
Wheels
Just the first episode but a lot quirkier, and funnier, than I was expecting.
I wonder what @HAL would have made of it
We stumbled across Open Range on channel 5 last night so we watched it again (just watched it a couple of weeks ago, but I like it, so…) and I was surprised to find it has a different ending to the one I have in my library.
Naturally there were some violence edits due to the time of day screening, but the ending was very different in that DuVall buys the bar and asks Costner to be his partner and Costner asks the gal to marry him. In the one I have that doesn’t happen. It ends with the gal telling Costner she’ll wait for him - but not forever, after he says he wants to come back - and the two free-grazers heading off into the sunset with their cattle. Nothing about marriage or Duvall and the bar.
