What an amazing young woman and an awesome car.
A pity it was an untimed run because I’d love to know what she did… Didn’t look or sound like she was holding back?
WOW! Brilliant!
I haven’t seen the movie.
Why did that make you ?
Round solid shot cannonballs don’t explode like an HE round when they land, they are a kinetic weapon.
The French used mortars, which did fire shells that had a fuse and explosive inside, but these were not shown. Again they didn’t explode when they land, but tended to be timed to explode (with the fuse) before impact.
Ah! That explains it.
I was confused because round exploding shells were used back then.
But movies usually exaggerate impacts. They do it in modern era movies too
Draft Day (2014)
I went in not expecting much from the movie and I was surprised I found it to be pretty decent. IMDb rates the movie at 6.8/10 stars. I find that to be a reasonable score.
Wheels
I enjoyed that movie as well. Not great but solid.

If drag racing was your sport in their era this movie depicts, while not must watch, it is a pretty good way to spend an hour and forty-five minutes.

Watched Almost Famous this past weekend. A fun movie, and perfect 70’s vibe.
Trivia: when released, Almost Famous was closer to the 1970s than we are today to when that film was released.
(this is also known as the ^%&% I’m Old!! trivia)
I read this morning how this is apparently ‘blowing up’ in the US so I had to watch it.
So glad I did:
Took me too long to watch this
Absolutely wonderful movie. Had tears at the end. Some great GT40 shots and the odd cobra and cobra coupe to drool over.
I really like Christian bale. One of my favourite actors
Wait, that must be a retitled Ford vs Ferrari. The subject matter intrigues as the original Steve McQueen Le Mans, which my father took me to see as a young lad, is one of my favorites.
Yes the title varies depending on region. Wonderful film. Cant stop thinking about it
It was Ford V Ferrari when I saw it at the flicks - very good film.
Yeah it’s amazing.
And the portrayal of Italians is just…
Enzo tipping his cap at the end was magical
I knew I had a copy lying around somewhere, so watched that again myself last night.
I had forgotten how good it is… and how long. Mine is the ‘bootleg’ version so comes in at 2hrs 42min.
Thanks for the heads up on this one. I’ve ordered it on disk.
