I like her better green.
I will be seeing Tron: Ares this Saturday and will post my review here soon after that.
How about as Uhura?
I’d watch Zoe Saldana driving to Walmart and doing the shopping.
I had totally forgotten about that movie… As cheesy as it is by today’s standards, it isn’t the worst B sci-fi film of that era. Especially when you are a teenager and it has a ‘hot naked chick’ in it ![]()
In the mid '80s I was friends with a guy who managed a video library and used to hang out there a fair bit. Name a movie from that era that was released on VHS and I have probably seen it.
Absolutely loved Life force … of course Matilda May had absolutely nothing to do with that ![]()
Definitely one of those classic 80s style sci-fi greats, with a nice twist on vampires and zombies with a good dose of space thrown in ![]()
And yep, it’s in my dvd collection ![]()
Fun fact
Mrs Murphy was a manageress at my local video store when we met
I saw this movie as a kid (probably around 13 years old) and all I could keep thinking at the time was why were all the actors speaking with such “funny” accents?
Managed to re-watch one of my favourite tv book adaptations, the 1981 version of day of the triffids, far better than that recent 2009 rubbish. Even with a small update that brought it to the 1980s from the books 50s setting, it was still very faithful
Oh! I didn’t know they made this one. Brilliant!
I always thought thr best version of this story was 28 days later. ![]()
One Battle After Another
First movie I’vs seen in a theater in a year. It borrows just enough from Pynchon’s “Vineland” to retain the weirdness and a dark dread that secret societies wield all the power from unseen shadows. Leo DiCaprio is at his best, here playing a not so heroic hero. His performance is much like the film, funny and foreboding. More so because it uncannily reflects current life in America. That prescience might make it a rare box-office success for writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson. I sure hope so.
Recently had the chance to see this. Think it was one of the most fun movies I’ve seen this year. If you like the idea of Dwight from the Office being a grizzled EMS veteran then you’d probably like this.
OMFG that’s brilliant. Harrowing, sure, but brilliant.
I have been hearing good things about that movie. Can’t wait for it to come to a streaming service.
I don’t remember him being in the:
Seriously though. I also thought he was quite good in Utopia. I will def have to track this down.
Just saw Tron Ares and I have to say I was very impressed. The movie was much better than I was expecting. I really don’t understand why most critics didn’t like it.
Today was one of those days that started of promising but by mid-morning had turned grey, miserable and damp.
Nothing better than to bunker down inside and watch a movie. I may have had to apply Sam Altman logic to the concept of copyright, but Code 3 was one of the best movies I have seen this year.
I wouldn’t call this a comedy, but the humour will be immediately familiar to anyone who has spent any time with medics, law enforcement or soldiers.
Not really a fan of Ethan Hawke until his role in Reservation Dogs. This has been a lot better than I was expecting:
Maybe he was just destined to play the ‘deadbeat dad’?
