What we watching? – Mudspike at the movies

Not available here.

And no US streaming service will accept an Australian credit card. I have to use their .au service so even a VPN to get around geofencing doesn’t work.

But regional pricing and catalogues and all that… How else is Bezos going to afford another yacht

I and my daughter just finished Stranger Things.

We started watching 3,5 years ago and we both fell in love with the characters and the story.

The last season and the ending was epic. Just epic.

I’m a big Star Wars fan and I’ve try to rub some of that off on my daughter. She liked the Mandalorian and has dutifully watched all the movies with me, but it didn’t quite take.

She just told me ”Dad, Stranger Things will be my Star Wars”. Damn it’s dusty in here…

That’s beautiful! Did you do the short MSFS add-on? I found it to be a fun homage.

Fair enough. We watched it last night and just loved it.

I have downloaded it, but haven’t tried it yet. I think these movie/tv tie ins are a cool idea for MSFS! I hope there will be more.

We watched Frankenstein over the Holidays while the family visited. It was given pretty much a thumbs up by everyone. I’m glad that I watched it, but could only justify a 4 out of 5 rating. Atmospherically stunning, well cast, directed, and acted. But…

Two objections. I thought the ending was rather anticlimactic, given the power of the story to that point, and had trouble with the lack of science explaining the monster’s invulnerability, which at times was almost comedic. But otherwise, a solid film.

Proenokke is a national treasure. That cabin is still maintained by the park service. Funny, I was just talking about him with an FO. The FO has kept a cabin between Talkeetna and Fairbanks about 6 miles from the nearest dirt road. He travels too and from by stopping the train which passes just yards by the cabin. (Passenger trains in Alaska will always stop in the wilderness. You just leave your stuff next to the tracks visibly enough to allow the engineer time to stop.)

It had a theatrical release in Europe but I don’t think it had one in North America.

I found Kojak (IMDB Link) last week on Roku.

Another series I did not watch during its initial run due to my age at the time. I have only seen the first four episodes but the series has caught my interest so I will definitely be watching more episodes. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Started to watch on Amazon Prime.

Production values are high even if not “Fury” high. It seems to share the same flawed premise though.

I might even watch it all.

I wasn’t bad….I love Tiger Tanks so I’m probably a bit biased….No Spoliers…but it did have somewhat of a surprise ending.

What. Is. That.

according to the IMDB

The titular Tiger tank of the film is a replica based on a T-55 chassis. Prior to filming, it was fitted with replica interleaved road wheels, though the wheel gap reveals the vehicle’s true identity. The replica is based at the Museum on the Demarcation Line in Rokycany, Czechia.

I knew that sprocket looked “red”

You must. I was prepared to pull it apart for all the inaccuracies.

The CC constantly saying "engine off’ when the Tiger had a power traverse that used a PTO, using a compass in the tank, not leaving at least one crew member to guard the tank. Especially the scene fording the river - Tanks leak like a sieve from the outset, trust me I know…

Until I got to the end. It is more Jacobs Ladder than Fury
