What we watching? – Mudspike at the movies

The last memorable thing I can think of is The Sixth Sense

I watched this a few days ago. My dad used to love movies like this – even into his final days he was watching this stuff.
As an 8 year old kid, it terrified me. The scene with Scott waking up in a shallow grave haunted me for years. We camped in the North Cascades every Summer near Ross lake; we’d drive up from Whidbey Island Washing to through Hope B.C. and come back into the U.S. on an old logging road. The old barracks where the workers stayed were still there at the time and they were eerie to look at with old oxidizing tin siding covered with holes and gashes that my dad told me were from the bears trying to get in. So, when I woke up one night to the sound of deep lungs sniffing around my tent I was absolutely frozen with fear. I’ll never forget that, but I also have some of my best memories from fishing and hiking there.

No video but this train wreck of a sketch on the James Corden show kept me up until 2 am today watching several of them.

Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Cher, Demi Moore and several other celebrities actually subjected themselves to this horror.

Hancock

I was not expecting much from this one because the trailers I saw when it came out did generate any interest for me. I am not upset that I did not see it in the theater but it is definitely a movie worth watching at home. :sunglasses:

I haven’t come across any recent films that have appealed to me so I’ve been watching old favorites like this:

I’m behind on this post, so this may be a repeat…, check out:

“HUN Pilots”.

Free with Amazon Prime. Same outfit that did Thud pilots. Both excellent.

Got to see both overhead as a kid. Control them, or try to, as an AF controller when the guard was about to moth-ball them - they didn’t turn to final as well as a '38 or Eagle - took a lot more ‘lead’ to line them up on a GCI/PAR

Man, they were loud too. My dad had one of those “go to hell” hats from his time a Ubon. Lost it fishing decades ago, before I knew the significance.

My dad was there too '71-'72, flying Phantoms out of Seymour. Wish that I had held on to his River Rats hat from Da Nang '68, with the mission ticks on the inside of the bill. Will definitely check out “The Hun”.

Number One

The movie was another OK movie. It is another one where I do not think you will be upset over losing your 100 minutes. It was interesting for me to see what was portrayed as a professional teams locker room and also the computers of the era.

Saw this one… Loved it. It walks the fine line between realism and storytelling, extremely well fitting with the movie arch.

I enjoyed it as well.

Certainly didn’t have that glorious John Wayne ending.

Just watched ”Danger Close”.
Aussies and Kiwis in Vietnam.
I liked it.

I am watching a few episodes of Airwolf right now.

I had to look up the plane they used in episode 3. The Boeing Skyfox. Nice looking plane.

Been a long time since I watched any episodes of Airwolf. Even though Jan Michael Vincent was the star of the show I thought Earnest Borgnine’s character is what made the show watchable. Second only to the copter.
