What we watching? – Mudspike at the movies

I am not yet sure if it is actually watchable for me.
The flying and action scenes are pretty nice but IMO the rest hasn’t aged very well and the German dubbed version is a bit hit and miss.

Unlike Knight Rider with David Hasselhoff :open_mouth:

I just watched the documentary called Operation Odessa on Netflix.

It was about some guys trying to broker a deal for the Cali cartel to buy a Russian sub.

It’s a pretty zany documentary. Not crazy AF, like Tiger King, but it’s slightly over the top. I recommend watching.

Another plug for “Jetstream”. I’m currently working myself through the Hornet and it’s fun to kinda know what all the things are now as I watch it again (for like the 5th time - I d/l’d to my harddrive from somewhere I can’t reacall). Wish there were more like this.

In that thread, I’m kinda tempted to rewatch the Carrier PBS series. I haven’t watched it since the initial release in 2008, but I bought the series on DVD. Anybody else seen it?

The one about the Reagan going around the Horn? I’ve seen it. There is this really irascible Nuke petty officer that steals the show…

You’ll see a certain member of the Fighter Pilot Podcast in that show if I’m not mistaken.

Ok, name names men!, and ladies if the case may be. Some of us are terrible at figuring out innuendo. 017

Watched Onward with the family. It was a good Pixar film, looked amazing, but story-wise it wasn’t really all that special. The central premise was original, but how it was done was rather…expected?

Not a bad film at all, but like the Good Dinosaur it failed to amaze. If it was anyone other than Disney, I’m sure it would be viewed more favorably, but we’ve come to expect excellence and when they don’t achieve it they get judged more harshly I think.

Also 1/2 way through season 1 of Picard. Enjoying it, but it’s more like Discovery than the ST of the 80s and 90s.
For that you still need to watch The Orville.

What’s it about? Post a trailer perhaps?

Based on the Philip K. Dick novel; wrapping the trailer in spoiler tags due to content (display of swastika and similar imagery):

That does look good.

“A Serbian Film” - It’s just crazy
“Cold Fish” - Japanese Horror film

Argh.

I finished watching the final season of High Castle a month ago.

I’d say the series is great until the last 10 minutes where you just sit there and stare

Fortunately it doesn’t negate anything like some other finales have, it just leaves you thinking “…and??”
But the PKD short story it’s based on frankly had a huge non-ending and was pretty much covered in the first season. So all the other seasons were not adapted from that story and instead were fresh ideas.

I tried hard to get into that show but just couldn’t.

Edit:
Whoops, missed that you were talking to @JediMaster.

I feel that way about a lot of Sam Rockwell’s movies @Bloodreina.
One movie I absolutely loved him in though was Galaxy Quest.
