The little lights aren’t twinkling Clark.

I think I may have seen Hell in the Pacific years ago? Will have to see if I can find it on Amazon or Netflix.

None but the Brave came out three years earlier and has a similar premise.

Ah, another Taika film! If that’s on Netflx, I’m watching it.

I loved What We Do in the Shadows, which I believe is on Amazon Prime, and of course Thor 3 was brilliant.

Quite engrossing indeed! Watched final EP07 tonight … beautiful. Unbelievable production value as well.

Undercover on Netflix is another good show. Don’t mind the trailer, it’s dubbed into English when you actually watch.

I’ve been watching season 2 of the Mandalorian (five episodes so far) and while I do like it a lot I still think it is a tad over-hyped.
Also nicely shows the double standards of parts of the fan base btw. They hate on the sequel trilogy for the same things that they praise in the Mandalorian.

It is excellent

Another from the I am too old category…

Me, Myself & Irene

Did not find humor in the swearing even years ago but the rest of the premise fell flat and I only made it about 30 minutes before shutting it off. Rene still looked cute though.

What would that be? Now i’m unsure if i hate the sequel trilogy for the right reasons.

Like for example a protagonist who has a very rapid character development, a rather flat story, or seems to excel on pretty much everything they do without a real struggle. Oh, and the Star Wars typical gaping plot holes and non-existent physics.
Edit: forgot to mention being stylistic different from George Lucas’ work and changing previously established lore. And being from Disney. And having Kathleen Kennedy as executive producer.

I did enjoy the sequel trilogy and I do enjoy the Mandalorian. Despite their shortcomings. To me it is strange that people have such strong opinions on either one.

I remember people harping about things wrong with the prequels that were literally the same as the original trilogy. Then they recycled the pattern, although they changed the reasons, for the new ones.

My point was, look, if you didn’t like them, that’s fine. Just don’t give an easily-rebutted reason for WHY and then argue that there is some razor-thin hair you’re splitting that makes ALL the difference.

“I didn’t like Attack of the Clones because it had a bunch of clumsy stupid enemies as soldiers”
“Uh, so were the stormtroopers fighting the Ewoks???”

“The dialogue was bad.”
“What exactly was good about dialogue like ‘I thought I recognized your foul stench when I was brought aboard’???”

Just ADMIT you are unable to articulate WHY you didn’t like them, don’t throw a bunch of junk you saw online as the reasons that can be shot down 1-2-3. Trying to act smart and failing miserably is far more embarrassing than just saying they lacked something you got from the previous ones and therefore didn’t enjoy them nearly as much. Especially when people try to cite their personal beliefs as anti-whatever agenda they think is behind it. It just makes them sound like they’re not smart enough to cover up the fact that what they really want is a bunch of straight white guys as heroes. Not saying they do, but their fumbling certainly gives that impression.

Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt kind of thing.
