What we watching? – Mudspike at the movies

I bought when it first came out on regular Bluray, don’t recall how long ago that was, and the film and the extras were quite good.
I wonder if this will have the same/different/more?

Guys,
This is something I just saw. It’s the story of Jesse Brown. He was the first black American Naval aviator and was in the Korean War. They have AD’s F4Us, MiGs and Bearcats! If they finish it, we will all be watching it. Hope its not as bad as Air Strike. Air Strike is so bad, you have to watch it.

The Odd Couple:

Still a good movie but some of the behavior that was considered acceptable in the late 1960’s made me cringe.

Our Souls at Night

Robert Redford and Jane Fonda paired again for possibly the last time?
I found both movies to be enjoyable.

No clue how they got those big $$ actors to play in this movie, but I did watch it to the end.

As silly as the whole thing is, I really liked it!

C&A is one of those films I felt like I should’ve liked more than I did. Great actors, great budget, sets, locations, etc.

I can only say it had to have been the script. It just didn’t click for me. A lot like John Carter in that respect. They spent money you can see on the screen but it just seems like it was all for an idea that the writing didn’t support.

Just watched “love and monsters” on Netflix.

Absolutely awesome. Fully recommended

Rush

OK movie but I felt Grand Prix was better, especially for the racing shots.

I loved the idea of a Western+SciFi mashup.
Cowboys and Aliens was sadly not a great movie. I still felt pretty entertained by it and it truly showed potential, but unfortunately it wasted quite some of that potential.

RUSH is one of my all-time favorite movies, but I will watch the 1967 “Grand Prix” since you insist.

Rush was a great film largely because of the 2 leads. The racing shots were secondary.

For a plain fun racing film, ie Top Gun on Wheels, Days of Thunder.

Now if you want to see a bad racing film… Driven.

What about “Cars”? My son loves it!

You’re right, the first Cars was excellent. The 2nd and 3rd not so much, and really weren’t racing films as much any more.

Yeah the quality drops quite a bit after the first.
Kids don’t care but…yeah especially the second was quite lame IMO. The third was a tad better but still not what I would call good.

“Planes” on the other hand: I liked the second movie better.

I only watched the first one and wasn’t impressed so I didn’t bother with the 2nd Planes.

Since I’ve been getting bombarded with ads about Tom Clancy’s “Without Remorse” being on Amazon Prime, I watched the first half. Pretty good so far! Lots of sweet action …

It’s on my list.
Looks like this one is NOT set in the early 70s, so I’m wondering how they made that work.

Same universe as the new Jack Ryan series, I’m guessing.

Because May the 4th be with you. And holy crap, the references and twists.
