Where to fight the next Mudspike DCS Multiplayer event?

What about LotATC?

Chris could double as AWACS, once he is on cruise level when real life flying…

ATC/Controller role would be fun, but €25 per client seat is a bit rich for what we want I think.

I have a key for that.. Ironically, Beach bought it for me when I won a contest here on Mudspike many many moons ago. I’m still proudly wearing my contest winner tag. Is there any way I could make it serve the site now?

I think it needs a client app and a key just to view the live map, so they have either the worst license key implementation of all time or we’d each need our own key just to peek. I’d suspect the latter. In terms of just one person being AI/ATC then it would work ok of course.

so we’d be all shelling out for a key to just watch the livemap? Then obviously a no-go. I have been GCI on Mudspike before, shortly after the fulcrum release. But it took work to set up serverside (@Derbysieger did that) and I don’t know if beach wants to do all that and if people are looking forward so much to being told what to do advized on actions all the time.

At the risk of sounding like a luddite, point a webcam at the screen of the server while in map mode? Yeah it’s not zoomable, etc, but it’s simple, nothing really to hack, and if you just want to check out how the fight is going in general it’d do the trick. For that matter does discord support screen sharing, and just share the servers screen?

Chris is going to have a go at setting up this guy:

If you go mouse hover top left (over the logo) it opens the menu and we’ll enter IP/Port to get the live server info. I don’t know how the Foothold F10 will look, but it’s easy to try. It will be about as secure as the existing open port to the DCS server (lol).

It’s an upgrade, if you had the original map as well as the Channel map it was $10 at release. The map was massively expanded to include Paris, London and the eastern part of the Channel (up to Dunkirk). The terrain is much better with more detail and a lot of custom high quality assets. The last big (free) update for the map was last year and included Amiens, Dover Castle new airfields, high detail channel Islands and much more.

IIRC if you own the original Normandy map you can still fly on the new version in multiplayer, the new areas will just be very low quality. Not sure how it handles the new buildings and changes in the terrain though.
