@Navynuke99 Amazon service (AWS) is having a bad day and there is an outage. The image/file uploads here will fail till they sort that out as it’s a service the forums relies on. ![]()
Looking (and smelling) pretty good. Subbed in Cajun andouille sausage for regular sausage though… Got some cornbread going too… It will either be fantastic or a disaster.
Oh…I drank some pints alright. That photo right there, I’m fairly certain was an Indian food place I think (?) (I honestly can’t remember…but it was definitely ethnic food)…
My best friend grabbing me a pint…
Looks good @BeachAV8R I’ll be right over ![]()
This was cool…at Joint Base Charleston this morning near the end of an organ procurement run…and at 0700 the sound of revellie came drifting over from the Air Force side of the field. Took me back to my days as a military brat…
Congaree National Park / Swamp
Burgers on the sandbar…
The swamp…variously flooded or not…this is pretty low water, sometimes it is five feet deeper…
Daddy always gets breakfast and coffee duty…particularly when it is 35 degrees outside…
It was Kai’s first proper hike…with an actual backpack carrying overnight gear. 10 miles round trip…but I picked a flat one (thus…a swamp)… He did great. He’s done lots of day hikes over the years…but this was the first backpack in trip…so it was a good start…
We did the trails from the Visitor Center down to the Congaree River…camped there overnight…a bit more than 5 miles in and 5 miles out…
I can’t wait to start getting some hiking and backpacking pictures in the coming months. I’m talking with some old classmates about spending some serious time in Pisgah come June or July, if I’m not hiking around Floyd at that time.
If you firm up some plans…drop me a line, I’m always game to hit a trail…!
Count on it!
Kind of…

Guessing tailwinds…
I suppose a crosswind mostly judging from the arrow on the HSI, that’s the only thing that I can imagine from having a quick cursory look at that fancy display ![]()
