Cb15 is less demanding for older systems. The point though really is to use a benchmark that has a wide user base for comparison. I have both 15 and 20.
F I built my machine too soon That looks jummy bro!
I hope you have a good PSU for all these high end components
Sounds like you might need one of those extra large boards, eATX or something I think they are called
What about thunderbolt, have you looked at that, faster than SATA. Nvme M. 2 would free up space. If there is only 1M.2 slot then that’s a problem. Maybe rather than 6 physical drives you spend the money on bigger storage and partition. Also are you utilising all the usb headers on the board, put a drive bay usb to the front of the case. I know nothing about MSI as it’s not a company I buy from. Asus mobos since my first build and evga components.
Just some fresh thinking for you anyway hope it’s of help
Or if money is no object how about thus

My replacement B550 is coming tonight, I hope they didn’t forget to pack the 5600X I sent back.
Quick, post CPU-intensive DCS missions or tracks for before/after benchmarks!
for my build 5800x i went for a
MSI X570 Unify
it’s not RGB (a plus for me) and a high end card!
love this card and love the bios (IMHO it’s much more simpler to move trough than asus one)
previously i had an Asus crosshair hero x370
i’ve on order super low latency ram 2x16 Bdie 3600 c14
(much more expensive and will give me a marginal gain over my 4x8 3200 c14 B-die, let’s see)
this card has 3 m2 slot (so i ordered a PCIe4 samungo pro 980 1tb to pair the older mvme samsung evo 970
SO and programs on PCIe 3 samsung EVO
GAMES and pagefile on PCIe4 Samsung PRO
(any toughts on this?)
this mobo has only 4 sata slots but a PCIe SATA card / RAID controller should be an option…
also it doesn’t have tons of USB but for all the joystick peripherals i had to realy on an external hub anyway…
PS
if you want to OC you should consider the Pricey ASUS dark hero too!
it’s fanless adn has a cool option…
It’s the only motherbord that you can OC (so with your cpu an all core 4,7 ghz) and that when it feels that you need single core top speed it disable the OC and allows your single core to boost 5.0 ghz…
hope being useful somehow!
To add to the above comment, do not focus on number of USB ports in a motherboard.
I got a Gigabyte motherboard and saw the number of USB (lots of 2.0 as well) ports as a nice to have, but as I’m reading online I see many people have all kinds of issues when all those ports are in use.
You’re much better off using a few USB 3 ports on the motherboard to connect powered USB hubs to.
B12 do not know if I missed it earlier, but which computer case are you using?
Scan.
Thats a Corsair Obsidian 750D, I have two of them. If it has a mesh faceplate instead of a solid one for the front fans it’s the Airflow edition.
You have been keeping your head down, I wanted to know how the 3090 was and haven’t seen you replying. So I went and bought one for myself, therefore it’s all your fault
Does it (750 airflow) have room behind the MB for easy cabling?
Do you like it or love it
B12 when you get your new toys running to your satisfaction and have time could you expound on this tailoring??
Well I was going to post a photo to reply but I discovered I never took any of the backside cable routing. It is quite good, that you can look up on google images probably. No issues getting the main ATX power cable on the back side and I even snake the CPU auxiliary power around back and up to the top left corner of the motherboard with room under the radiator and fans.
I’m really jealous. Looks like such a beast of a build mate.
Eagerly awaiting this, especially with DCS.
Curious here…do you have some recommendations on this subject. I try to remove as much useless stuff as I can after I first peel the wrapper off, and shut down all but the min services I need.
Heads up: In Germany, AMD CPUs are available and prices are dropping.
