Tuesday Night DCS

No problemo!

Was wondering how it’d fair with overseas connections.

I’ll post some SRS stuff when I am back at my desk.

@komemiute you be joining us too sometime, yeah? You need not fear, we’re all incompetent fools bumbling and mumbling. I’d love to fly on your wing sometime.

Sorting, chainsawing and splitting bogeys with a real life wingman is forking awesome. I had no idea BVR could be actual fun.

Hey you might be stuck at work, but at least your missus sends you picture of awesome flying machines she snaps with her phone. Mine wouldn’t know a B-52 from an airbus :duck:

A few SRS hints for Offensive Posture:

The briefing images have a page for signal info – radio, TACAN, and ICLS – as well as preset settings where available. Each aircraft has a flight frequency that is assigned to it from where it was based; for example, everything starting from the Stennis is 319. These frequencies don’t have to be used, they’re just set for convenience to reduce comm overlap and chatter. As we tend to listen to the AWACS frequency the most (277AM), you can tune to that and make a shout out, then go from there. For example, the A-10C having only one UHF radio and is always listening to 277, so anyone in the A-10 slots might want to use a custom VHF or FM frequency for chatter. SRS is flexible in this regard, so you could even talk on the Sukhumi frequency for example.

The red side is a bit more problematic as most of their aircraft are FC level and so there’s no real in game interface, so pretty much anything goes. You can still utilize the frequencies indicated on the signal page there, just means you have to manually tune SRS.

Glad I could fly with you guys a little, sadly I had to leave early to attend to an urgent matter and I wasn’t able to run comms. I flew the Gazelle since there has been so much talk about it lately, actually had some fun hunting helicopters and ended up downing two jets that were flying over, sadly I got caught by a Mig-29 and he dropped me.

You guys should announce these sort of flights a little earlier  But happy to see the bunch of you had fun, hopefully I can join in next time!

Looking at the server with only myself connected, traffic was in the Kbps range.
Of course, that goes up with more clients - but a couple Mbps each way may suffice.

I’ll have to decide spontaneously, trying to spend time with the GF as we haven’t had a weekend together in a while.

Simple solution to that- get married and she wouldn’t want to spend any more time with you!
